Coon Rapids Bayard established their run game, rushing for 425-yards and five touchdowns. They 37-28 at half, then controlled the 2nd half as the defense clamped down on the Gaels, holding them to 6-points in the half while scoring 14-points in the 4th quarter. Wyatt Oswald added three touchdown passes on eight attempts for 86-yards as the Crusaders rolled up 511-yards on offense. The defense allowed 207-yard passing but had an interception and held the Gaels to 132-yards rushing.
Caden Oswald had his best game of the season, rushing for 218-yards on 12 carries with 4 rushing touchdowns. Wyatt Oswald added 14 carries for 148-yards and a score while throwing 8 times with 6 completions, three went to Cal Heydon for touchdowns. Kolby Culbertson had 3 catches for 40-yards and led the team with 6 tackles. Ethan Bauer added 5.5 tackles.
The win improves the Crusaders to 2-4 overall and 2-2 in district play. The Crusaders head to Glidden Ralston on Friday on 93.7 KKRL.
