Boys Track Results Monday, April 17th
Carroll, Kuemper and East Sac At Greene County
Kuemper nearly claimed the team championship, taking 2nd place, three points behind ADM. The Knights scored 121 points while ADM at 124. Carroll challenged Greene County for 3rd but came in 4th with 84 points and East Sac was 6th with 46 points. All three teams did a nice job of scoring points in numerous events. Kuemper scored with twenty individual events or relays, having several individuals place in the same event. Carroll was similar, pointing with fourteen individuals or relays. Not far behind the Tigers was East Sac, pointing with ten relays or individuals. The Knights won seven championships and had five more 2nd or 3rd place finishes. The Tigers took first in three events, adding five more 2nd or 3rd place finishes. East Sac finished with five 2nd or 3rd place finishes.
DJ Vonnahme was strong for Kuemper, taking 1st in the 200 Meters in 23.34 and 2nd in the 100 Meters. Jacob Greving won the 800 Meters in 2:06.53 and the 3200 Meters in 10:23.61. Kuemper won the 4×800 in 9:04.48 with Tregan Beiter, Koby Lampman, Thomas Pottebaum and Trevor Rial. Ben Gerken won both the High Jump (6-01.00) and Long Jump (19-08.50). Evan Adams claimed the Knights last two championships in the Shot Put (46-08) and Discus (147-04). Koby Lampman was 3rd in the 400 Meters. The Knights were 3rd in the 4×100 with Logan Sibenaller, Ben Gerken, Chris Mohr and DJ Vonnahme and in the 4×200 with Logan Sibenaller, Chris Mohr, Evan Loew and Trevor Rial. Chris Mohr was 3rd in the Discus.
Ryan North led the Tigers, winning the 1600 Meters in 4:58.86. Carroll won the Sprint Medley with Reece Ziegmann, Austin Tigges, Edrik Heisterkamp and Jack White. They ran a 1:40.58. The Distance Medley was 1st in 3:49.90 with Reece Ziegmann, Jack White, Edrik Heisterkamp and Ryan North. Carroll was 2nd in the 4×100 with Reece Ziegmann, Trey Hunter, Austin Tigges and Jack White and the 4×400 with Edrik Heisterkamp, Ryan North, Trey Hunter and Jack White. They were 2nd in the Shuttle Hurdle with Carter Smith, Carson Tedrow, Ty Hawkinson and Owen Klocke. Trey Hunter took 2nd in the Long Jump. Louie Tharjiath was 3rd in the 110 Hurdles.
Parker Engel and Landon Sporrer did well for East Sac. Engel was 2nd in the 1600 Meters and 3200 Meters while Sporrer took 3rd in both of those events. Garret Ortner was 3rd in the 400 Hurdles.

Coon Rapids Bayard, Glidden Ralston and South Central Calhoun At SE Valley
South Central Calhoun’s depth kept them in the hunt for a title but SE Valley rallied over the final two races to outscore the Titans by 7 points, pulling ahead. The Titans finished in 2nd place with 126 points while the Jaguars were the champs with 131 points. Coon Rapids Bayard was strong taking 5th with 63 points and Glidden Ralston took 7th with 5 points. The Titans finished with twenty-three individuals or relays place, getting two individuals in several events. They had three championships and eleven more 2nd or 3rd place finishes. Coon Rapids Bayard picked up a pair of championships with four more 2nd or 3rd place finishes and scored with 12 relays or individuals. Glidden Ralston had three events place.
Brock Nattress had a strong night, winning the 100 Meters in 11.72 with teammate Keegan Soard in 2nd. Nattress won the 400 Meters in 55.18 with Soard taking 3rd. Zakiah Pettigrew was the Titans other champion, winning the 110 Hurdles in 16.68. Andrew Anderson was 2nd with Kayden Hammen 3rd in the High Jump. They also went 2nd and 3rd in the 3200 Meters with Tristan Blair (2nd) and Redge Potts (3rd). Brock Nattress took 2nd in the 200 Meters. Jace Pedersen was 3rd in the Discus. The Titans took 3rd in the 4×800 with Kayden Hammen, Nathan Burley, Jordan Moreno and Josh Knapp. They added a 3rd in the Shuttle Hurdle with Andrew Anderson, Chance Roeder, Zakiah Pettigrew and Kolin Folsom. Tristan Blair was 3rd in the 1600 Meters.
Coon Rapids Bayard first title came in the Shuttle Hurdle, running a 1:07.07 with Cal Heydon, Lucas Obert, Lance Clayburg and Johnny Cortez. Omarion Floyd was their other champ, winning the 200 Meters in 23.34. The Crusaders were 2nd in the Sprint Medley with Wyatt Oswald, Raiden Doty, Omarion Floyd and Kolby Culbertson. Cal Heydon finished 2nd in the 110 Hurdles and Raiden Doty took 3rd in the 100 Meters. The 4×200 took 3rd with Wyatt Oswald, Parker Hays, Lance Clayburg and Omarion Floyd.
Jonathan Bergmeier took 5th in the 400 Hurdles for the Wildcats and Joe Thelin was 5th in the 1600 Meters.

IKM-Manning and Ar-We-Va at Denison Schleswig Boys
The Ar-We-Va Rockets and IKM-Manning track teams traveled a bit west for Monday’s Ace Nelson Relays at Denison Schleswig High School. The Wolves had another standout team result, finishing in second place with 111.50 points just behind meet winner Lawton Bronson who had 118 points. Ar-We-Va finished this meet with five points.
The Wolves finished with seven top two finishes overall. The 4X800 relay team, composed of Lane Sams, Hunter Smith, Abe Polzien, and Reed Hinners, won the event with a winning time of 8:49.15. Ross Kusel was the other champion for the Wolves who won the high jump event with a winning jump of 6-00.00. Cooper Irlmeier had another top finish in the field events, finishing second overall with a best jump of 19-08.00. He’d also finished fourth in the high jump with a best jump of 5-08.00.
Reed Hinners, along with the win in the 4X800, also got second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:49.17 and 3200 meter run with a time of 10:27.82. Smith was also able to capture a top individual finish in the 800 meter run finishing second overall with a time of 2:04.66. The last top finish for IKM-Manning was in the distance medley relay where Eli Dreyer, Justin Segebart, Ben Ramsey, and Sams finished second overall with a time of 3:53.95.
For the Ar-We-Va Rockets, Blayne Smith was part of both top finishes. Smith finished seventh overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:16.55. The Rockets’ sprint medley relay team, composed of Johnathan Riesselman, Weston Toft, Devon Ehlers, and Smith finished seventh overall with a time of 1:49.07. All four members of that relay team agreed it was nice to compete against other schools since their last track meet was over a month ago.
Both teams will compete at the OABCIG Co-Ed Invite coming up on Thursday, April 20th.
