Girls Track Results Monday, April 17th 

Carroll, Kuemper and East Sac At Greene County 

Carroll was strong again, falling only to a Raccoon River Conference foe. Kuemper was strong and East Sac struggled, placing in one event. The Tigers took 2nd place with 127.5 points, behind ADM who won handily with 199 points. Kuemper was 6th with 34 points, 22 points behind Greene County who took 5th. East Sac took 8th place with 1 point. Carroll had nineteen individuals or relays score with multiple individual events placing two girls. They won five events and had nine more 2nd or 3rd place finishes. Kuemper scored with ten individuals or relays with one individual event placing two girls. The Knights had two events either 2nd or 3rd. East Sac took 6th place in one event.

Marie Dea continues her outstanding season for Carroll, winning the 400 Meters (1:00.04) and the 800 Meters (2:23.15). Madison Tunning has been one of the best in the state to start the season. She won the 100 Hurdles in 15.53 and was part of the winning Shuttle Hurdle team along with Sadie Kelly, Abby Neppel and Autumn Fortner. That group has been strong all season and ran a 1:12.79. Shay Sinnard was the Tigers other champion, winning the Long Jump with a 17-02.50. Autumn Fortner had a strong night, taking 2nd in the 100 Hurdles and the 400 Hurdles. Carroll was 2nd in the 4×400 with Averi Burke, Emily Puck, Katelyn Aden and Marie Dea. They added a 2nd place in the 4×800 with Averi Burke, Julia Kanne, Tahlia Hahn and Kiyah Wittrock. The Sprint Medley team with Brenna Goins, Libby Perkins, Madison Tunning and Marie Dea. Distance Medley took 2nd with Aubrie Schmitt-Hubbard, Amanda Wardell, Emily Puck and Katelyn Aden. Shay Sinnard added another top finish, taking 3rd in the 100 Meters, Julia Kanne was 3rd in the 1500 Meters and Carroll was 3rd in the 4×100 with Brenna Goins, Madison Tunning, Aubrie Drake and Shay Sinnard.

Kuemper took 3rd in the Distance Medley with Macy Blum, Kaci Peter, Grace C Hoffman and Charlotte Hackfort. Ellie Sibbel has been throwing really well and took 2nd in the Shot Put.

Olivya Mack was the top finisher for East Sac, taking 6th in the 400 Meters.

Coon Rapids Bayard, Glidden Ralston and South Central Calhoun Results 

All three area teams had solid nights with South Central Calhoun contending for the team title and Glidden Ralston and Coon Rapids Bayard competing well in the events they were in with low numbers. The Titans ended the night in 4th place with 103 points, 8 points behind Newell Fonda in 3rd and 14 points back of Ogden who won the meet with 117 points. Glidden Ralston took 6th with 41 points and Coon Rapids Bayard finished in 7th with 26 points. South Central Calhoun scored points with sixteen activities, having two girls score in the same individual event. They ended the night with three championships and  8 more 2nd or 3rd place finishes. The Wildcats had seven events score, including an individual event with both girls finishing in the top 6. They had five 2nd or 3rd place finishes. Coon Rapids Bayard claimed one championship with one more 2nd or 3rd place finish, while scoring in five events.

Keira Hammen continued her strong showings in the throwing events, winning the Discus with a 114-02 for the Titans and taking 2nd in the Shot Put. The Titans also won the Sprint Medley in 2:02.08 with Jayci Graeve, Norah Riedesel, Brenna McAlister and Chloe Judisch. Judisch picked up another title in the 800 Meters, running a 2:28.46. Ashley Schleisman joined Hammen on the podium in the Discus, taking 2nd place. Iris Melody is running really well in the 3000 Meters, finishing 2nd. Melody was part of the Distance Medley that finished 2nd with Claire Riat, Lacey Martin, Norah Riedesel. Brenna McAlister added another 2nd place for South Central Calhoun in the 1500 Meters. The Titans were 3rd in the 4×800 with Emma Myers, Evelyn Kramer, Katie Burley and Mady Smidt. Myers took 3rd in the 800 Meters and Iris Melody was 3rd in the 1500 Meters. The Titans wrapped up the night with a 3rd in the 4×400 with Emma Myers, Chloe Judisch, Brenna McAlister and Norah Riedesel.

Vanessa Koehler of Glidden Ralston finished 2nd in the High Jump and 200 Meters while taking 3rd in the 100 Meters and 100 Hurdles. Tiela Janssen added a 2nd place in the 400 Hurdles.

Coon Rapids Bayard had a championship, winning the Distance Medley in 5:09.24 with Anna Hart, Lydia Hofbauer, Malia Clayburg and Ella Heithoff. They were 3rd in the 4×100 with Malia Clayburg, Maddy Mason, Kadey Olson and Anna Hart.

IKM-Manning and Ar-We-Va at Denison Schleswig Girls

Ar-We-Va and IKM-Manning were both in action Monday at the Ace Nelson Relays at Denison-Schleswig and both teams found success. Ar-We-Va finished just ahead of IKM-Manning in the team standings with 53 points compared to 44.50 points. Denison-Schleswig were the winners of their home meet with a final team score of 179. 

Ar-We-Va saw plenty of individual success at this meet. Maggie Ragaller was once again solid in the hurdle events. She was part of the winning shuttle hurdle relay team, along with Elizabeth Brunner, Jamie Hausman, and Kora Obrecht, who won with a time of 1:10.10. Ragaller also finished second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.91 and the 400 hurdles with a final time of 1:11.50. Kora Obrecht also had a standout individual day with a win in the 100 meter dash with a winning time of 13.65, a third-place finish in the long jump with a best jump of 14-11.00, and was part of the third place 4X100 relay team. Obrecht, along with Brunner, Amber Ragaller, and Hausman, finished with a relay time of 54.60. 

On the other hand, IKM-Manning had many more top relay finishes than the Rockets. Their best finishes came in the 4X800 and distance medley relay. In the 4X800, composed of Julianna Stribe, Emmie Ring, Alikxa McGinn, and Hannah McKinney, they finished second overall with a time of 11:18.64. The distance medley relay team also finished second with Abby Wanser, Grace Carroll, McGinn, and Stribe finishing with a time of 4:49.01. Stribe, Carroll, McGinn, and Ring all composed the 4X400 relay team that finished fifth overall with a time of 4:45.60. Karlee Arp joined Carroll, McGinn, and Abbagail Neiheisel in the 4X200 that finished fourth overall with a time of 2:00.46.

Neiheisel helped the shuttle hurdle relay team to a fourth place finish where she was joined by Amber Halbur, Wanser, and Ring. They finished with a time of 1:18.22. Finally, Halbur had the best individual finish for the Wolves, finishing behind Obrecht in the long jump in fourth place with a best jump of 14-05.00. 

Both teams will compete at the OABCIG Co-Ed Invite coming up on Thursday, April 20th.
