The Audubon Wheelers split match wins in singles but were unable to pick up a win in doubles as they hosted Southwest Valley Tuesday.
Audrey Jensen and Gery Anderson were both taken to their limits in their singles matches with Jensen winning the tiebreaker by a score of 9-8 and Anderson pulling away for a 9-7 win. Ava Slater had a fairly smooth match in singles against Ryanne Mullen where Slater won 8-3. Jensen and Anderson teamed up for doubles but couldn’t put the final touches together. The duo from SW Valley, Charlee Larsen and Mullen, ultimately pulled away to win 8-4. Slater and Nicole Bald had a solid back and forth with Karissa Richey and Natalia Zimmerman before the Audubon duo were defeated by a score of 8-5.
The loss drops the Wheelers to 1-4 overall on the season. They are on the road on Thursday, April 20th when they take on Creston at Southwestern Community College.
