The Kuemper Knights were one match shy of a shut out of Red Oak but their performances across the board were dominant. Overall, the Knights had three shutout match wins in singles and while they had closer doubles matches, they ended up going 90-21 in sets.
Mason Reicks, Jake Hausman, and Braxton Lu all had clear cut wins in singles going 10-0 in their matches in singles. Hans Kraus was close to giving Kuemper a fourth flawless victory, but he was able to still play well and won 10-1 over Brett Erickson. Max Reincke continued the streak of solid singles play by defeating Joshua LeRette 10-2. The lone loss on the day for the Knights was Josh Langel who lost to Max DeVries by a match score of 10-4.
Doubles was much more of an uphill battle for the Kuemper squad. Hausman and Landon Pottebaum took care of business in their doubles match, winning 10-2. Langel and Kraus teamed up to take on DeVries and Brett Erickson where the Knights duo rounded out solid playing with a 10-6 win. The toughest doubles match of the day was when Colby Pudenz and Carter Running took on Braden Woods and Jonah Wemhoff. The Red Oak team threatened to take two match wins from Kuemper, but Pudenz and Running were able to hold on for the 10-7 match win.
The Knights picked up win number two with this meet victory, improving to 2-1 overall on the season. They are back in action on Monday, April 17th when they host Harlan.
