Girls Track Results Thursday, April 6th

Carroll At Nevada 

Carroll had another great meet, but a disappointing outcome as North Polk edges them for the team championship 148 to 147. The Tigers had a chance in the final event finishing 2nd in the 4×400 but North Polk had a 3 point lead heading into the race and finished 3rd, giving them the 1 point win. Carroll won six of the nineteen events and had seven more 2nd or 3rd place finishes. Five of the six titles came in individual events, while the Tigers took 2nd in three relays.

Shay Sinnard won both the 100 Meters (13.33) and the Long Jump (17-03.50) while Marie Dea won both the 800 Meters (2:23.26) and the 400 Meters (59.50). Madison Tunning grabbed a title in the 100 Hurdles (16.23). Carroll’s other title came in the Sprint Medley (1:54.14) with Marasyn Wittrock, Libby Perkins, Madison Tunning and Amanda Wardell. The Tigers were 2nd in the 4×100 with Brenna Goins, Madison Tunning, Aubrie Drake and Shay Sinnard, 2nd in the Shuttle Hurdle with Sadie Kelly, Autumn Fortner, Abby Neppel and Madison Tunning and the 4×400 with Marasyn Wittrock, Katelyn Aden, Emily Puck and Marie Dea. Emma Kuhlmann claimed their final 2nd place finish in the Shot Put.

Carroll returns to action on Monday, hosting the Carroll Co-Ed.

East Sac At Cherokee 

The Raiders had six events score points at a strong meet on Thursday, finishing in 11th place with 16 points. They placed an individual and a relay in the top 5 with a 7th place and three 8th place finishes.

Olivya Mack was their top performer as she continues to show her potential as a freshman, coming off a great wrestling season. Mack was 3rd in the 400 Hurdles while the Raiders took 4th in the Distance Medley with Lilly Lode, Emma Meredith, Mary Bontrager and Olivya Mack. Maci Gustavson took 7th in the Shot Put.

The Raiders will head to Manson NW Webster next Thursday.

Audubon At AHSTW 

Audubon scored on 13 of the 19 events, with 11 finishes in the top 5, including two individual events with both individuals finishing in the top 5. The Wheelers finished 5th as a team with 71 points, finishing ahead of four teams.

Madison Steckler and Stefi Beisswenger were two of the Wheelers top performers with Steckler taking 3rd in the 100 Meters and 100 Hurdles. Beisswenger was 2nd in the 1500 Meters while taking 3rd in both the 800 Meters and 3000 Meters.

Audubon will compete at the Carroll Co-Ed on Monday.
