Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll, East Sac, and Audubon Boys Track Teams in Action Thursday

Boys Track Results for Thursday, April 7th

Carroll at Missouri Valley

The Carroll Tigers had some good competition at Missouri Valley Thursday, but were able to sneak in some top five finishes. The Tigers as a team finished sixth overall with 63 points. The top three teams all had triple digits scores with Glenwood winning the meet with 147 points, followed by Treynor with 122 and Underwood with 119. 

The Tigers’ best finisher was Trey Hunter who continued to do well in the high jump winning the event at Missouri Valley with a best jump of 5-11.00. The 4X200 relay team, composed of Austin Tigges, Hunter, Reece Ziegmann, and Jack White had the next best finish at third place with a combined time of 1:38.02. Carroll had five fourth place finishes which included three relays and two individuals. Dayton Wiederien finished fourth overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.77 followed by teammate Evan Schaeffer in fifth with a time of 2:24.03. Colton Wieland in the discus finished fourth overall with a best throw of 122-08.50.

In the relays that finished in fourth-place, Blake Molinsky, Schaeffer, Wiederien, and Dylan Hosenfelt had a final time of 10:05.94 in the 4X800, Carter Smith, Carson Tedrow, Maddux White, and Owen Klocke had a time of 1:09.57 in the shuttle hurdle relay, and Ziegmann, Tigges, Hunter, and Jack White had a time of 45.73 in the 4X100. The final top five finish for the Tigers was the 4X400 where Caden Mollhoff, Tigges, Edrik Heisterkamp, and Caleb Vanderheiden finished fifth overall with a combined time of 3:52.79. 

The Tigers are back home on Monday, April 10th for their home CoEd meet. Local teams competing at that meet include Audubon, IKM-Manning, Kuemper, and South Central Calhoun.

      East Sac at Cherokee

      The East Sac Raiders came away from a stacked track meet at Cherokee with four top five finishes. As a team, the Raiders finished ninth overall with 39 points. Okoboji was able to win the event with a team score of 141 followed by Spencer in second place with 133 and LeMars rounding out the top three with 111 points. 

      For the Raiders they had four great individual performances. Landon Sporrer ran well in the 3200 finishing third overall with a time of 10:43.19. Trace Kraus in the 400-meter dash was able to snag a fourth-place finish with a time of 56.10. Logan Schroeder was able to crack the top five in the 200-meter dash with a fifth-place finish with a time of 24.52. Finally, Garrett Ortner finished third overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.70.

      The Raiders are back in action on Thursday, April 13th when they travel to Manson NW Webster for the Emily Markert Co-Ed Relays.

          Audubon at AHSTW

          The Audubon Wheelers were on the road Thursday as they competed at AHSTW and came away with plenty of success. The Wheelers finished third as a team with 89 points, just ahead of Girswold and Fremont Mills who both had 88 points. Riverside was the eventual team champion with 155 points. 

          The Wheelers ended up with four champions and four second or third place finishes. Individual champions included Aaron Olsen who won the 100-meter dash with a winning time of 11.73 and Zeke Konkler who won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.84. Those two were also part of the winning relays for the Wheelers. Along with Manny Beisswenger and Dakota McCrainie, the 4X100 team won the event with a final relay time of 47.19. Those same four runners were able to win the sprint medley relay with a best time of 1:41.08. 

          In the 4X800 relay, Adam Obrecht, Jack Stanerson, Carson Wessel, and Brody Beane got second place with a combined time of 9:58.57. Stanerson, Wessel, and Beane were joined by Logan Stetzel in the 4X200 where the relay team got third place with a time of 1:47.08. Beisswenger and Olsen were part of the shuttle hurdle relay with Brody Schultes and Gabe Jensen when the team got second place with a combined time of 1:07.21. Finally, Ely Jorgensen was able to finish third overall in the shot put even with a best throw of 36-11.00. 

          After the Easter break, the Wheelers are back in action on Monday, April 10th when they compete at the Carroll CoEd meet along with Kuemper, South Central Calhoun, IKM-Manning, and Carroll.
