The South Central Calhoun Titans were able to snap a two-game losing skid as they dominated Belmond Klemme just before the start of the playoffs.
The Titans got back to playing Titan football as they’d got off to an explosive start. They’d manage to put up 42 first half points and leave the Broncos with a mere six points. Gavin Batta had another solid night overall completing six of his 11 passing attempts for 143 yards and a touchdown while running in another touchdown. Brock Nattress was a reliable rusher in this game, rushing for 105 yards off seven carries and bringing three scores to the house. He’d end up with 15 yards per carry. Dominik Kistler gave the Titans a dual threat running game as he’d end up with 114 yards off eight carries.
In the second half, the Titans put the game away for good with 14 points in the third quarter while Belmond Klemme got one final touchdown on the board. Defensively for the Titans, they were led by Chance Roeder who had seven total tackles, four solo tackles and a fumble recovery. As a team, the Titans had 12 tackles for loss. The Titans dominate from start to finish and end up with a 56-12 win in the books.
South Central Calhoun locked up third place in the district and are playoff bound. They will travel to northwest Iowa Friday as they take on Western Christian in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs.
