The defense was every bit as sharp as the offense, picking off a Nighthawk pass, setting up anotther score in the 1st quarter and Carroll was up 13-0. Boyden Hull/Rock Valley established some offense on their next drive, looking like they may move down the field, but an overthrown pass was picked off by an opportunistic Carroll defense and the Tigers offense took advantage. They marched down the field again, extending their lead to 19-0 at half. The Nighthawks did have the final possession of the 1st half, but the Carroll defense made the stop, holding the lead at 19, with Boyden Hull/Rock Valley getting the ball to start the 2nd half.
