The Tigers rally fell just short, leaving the tying and winning run on base in the 7th. Carroll left 13 runners on base and hurt themselves with 4 errors that allowed 7 unearned runs. The Cubs used some Tiger miscues to score a pair of runs in the 1st inning, then added 5 more in the 2nd. Carroll answered in the bottom 2nd, when Dreylen Schweitzer hit a 2-run single. Nevada pushed the lead to 10-2 in the 3rd with 3-runs but that would be the last time they scored until the 7th. Carroll began to chip away and Sterling Rodman drove in a run in the 4th with an RBI groundout. Evan Loew followed with a 2-run single. Loew added to his RBI total with a triple in the 6th. Jireh Gallegos came in to run for him and scored on a wild pitch. That cut the Tiger deficit to 10-7. The Cubs got a much needed insurance run in the 7th, which turned out to be the game winner. Carroll loaded the bases in the 7th and Ryan North walked, Sterling Rodman and Evan Loew both scored on an error. The Tigers were unable to push the tying run across the plate.
Evan Loew and Ryan North both had 2 hits, with Loew tripling and driving in 3-runs, North doubled and scored a run. Dreylen Schweitzer added a pair of RBI. Evan Loew and Sterling Rodman each scored twice. Evan Loew went 3 1/3 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 5.
The Tigers fall to 1-17 overall and 0-9 in the Raccoon River Conference. They host North Polk on Monday.

Ar-We-Va struggled on the mound but found a way to rally back and then held on to top Glidden Ralston 6-5. The Wildcats finished with 1 hit but used 11 walks and 2 hit-by-pitch to lead 3-1 heading into the 3rd inning. Glidden Ralston had chances with Ar-We-Va scuffling on the hill, having two players tagged out at home when a passed ball bounced back to Wade Ragaller, the Rocket catcher who tagged the runner out at the plate. That ended the Wildcats threat in the 1st inning and in the 2nd inning. The Wildcats also left the bases loaded in the 5th and two on base in the 6th. Ar-We-Va out hit the Wildcats 7 to 1 but left two runners on base in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th innings.
Will Ragaller opened the game being hit-by-pitch, stole 2nd base and then scored on a ground out by Conner Kirsch. Glidden Ralston responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half. Ar-We-Va walked four batters in the inning and had an error on a ground ball that allowed the 2nd run to score. The Wildcats added to the lead in the 2nd with three more walks and a ground out by Jonathan Bergmeier that scored Waylon Hein. Ar-We-Va tied the game in the 3rd with a pair of runs. Cooper Kock walking and Conner Kirsch reaching on an error, scoring Kock who had stolen 2nd and never stopped when he rounded 3rd on the ground ball by Kirsch. Kirsch later scored on a wild pitch. Ar-We-Va took their first lead with a run in the 4th inning. Cooper Kock singled and then took 2nd on an error. Conner Kirsch doubled to score her and Ar-We-Va was up 4-3. Blayne Smith singled to score Wade Ragaller and Wyatt Ragaller singled to score Smith in the 5th inning to put Ar-We-Va up 6-3. Glidden Ralston responded in the bottom 5th, Johathan Bergmeier singled for their 0nly hit of the game, then scored on a wild pitch. They pulled within a run on an RBI walk by Caden Wenck that kept the bases loaded with 1 out. Conner Kirsch settled in after replacing Cooper Kock on the hill and the walk of Wenck, striking out the next two batters. Jackson Sklenar reached on an error and Tyler Brant was hit-by-pitch in the 6th but Kirsch got a strikeout to end the threat. Kirsch struck out two of the three batters in the 7th and induced a popup to the catcher for the other out and Ar-We-Va held on to win.
Wyatt Ragaller had a team high 3 hits for Ar-We-Va including an RBI. Conner Kirsch finished with a pair of hits with a double and 2-runs driven in. He pitched the final 2 2/3 innings to get the save, striking out 7. Cooper Kock went had a single and scored twice. Kock started on the hill, going 4 1/3 innings, striking out 7, walking 10 and giving up 5 runs with 3 earned on just 1 hit.
Jonathan Bergmeier had the only hit for Glidden Ralston, driving in a run and scoring once. Ethan Olberding and Waylon Hein both scored once with Jackson Sklenar scored twice. John Whitver went 6 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 6 runs with 4 earned. He struck out 8.
Ar-We-Va improves to 4-8 overall and 3-7 in the Rolling Valley. They will head to Coon Rapids Bayard on Monday. Glidden Ralston falls to 3-12 overall and 3-7 in the RVC and will travel to West Harrison on Monday.

A rough 1st inning put the Wolves in a hole they almost dug out of but fell a little short after leaving the bases loaded in the 7th. They had already pushed a pair of runs in on a double by Treyton Barry but weren’t able to squeeze another run in. IKM-Manning fell behind in the 1st inning 6-0, but responded with a run in the bottom half. Lane Sams clamped down on the Riverside offense, holding them scoreless through from the 2nd to the 6th inning. That allowed IKM-Manning to chip away. They weren’t able to score until the 6th and pushed a pair of runs in to make it 6-3. Riverside added a run in the 7th, before the Wolves scored 2 in the bottom half.
Treyton Barry had a big night at the plate with 3 hits, a double, 2-runs driven in and 2 scored. Max Irlmeier had two hits and an RBI. Jackson Woebke and Bryce Summerfield both had doubles. Lane Sams pitched 5 innings, allowing 3 hits with 4 strikeouts.
IKM-Manning falls to 6-9 overall and 4-8 in the WIC. They host LoMa on Monday.

Coon Rapids Bayard scored 16-runs in a game for the second time this week and in double figures for the third time this week as the 10th ranked Crusaders improved to 15-3 overall and 9-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They had to fight early in the game, falling behind 2-0 after the 1st inning, allowing a pair of unearned runs. They changed that in the 2nd inning with 8-runs that blew the game open. They added 3 more runs in the 3rd and finished the game off with 5 more in the 4th. The Crusaders racked up 13 hits with three players having multi hits games. They finished the game with 11 RBI out of the 16-runs scored, doing so with only one extra base hit. They did a nice job getting extra runners on base with 5 walks and 6 hit-by-pitch.
Easton Hays had 4 hits, scored 3 times and stole 5 bases. Kolby Culbertson and Jacob Estrada each had 2 hits with Culbertson doubling and scoring twice and Estrada driving in a pair of runs. Cal Heydon added 2 RBI and scored twice. Gabe Obert scored 3 times. Parker Hays added 2 RBI. Lance Clayburg got the win, going 4 innings, allowing 5 hits and no earned runs with 4 strikeouts.
The Crusaders host Ar-We-Va on Monday.

The South Central Calhoun Titans were able to notch win number five on the season as they got past East Sac Friday afternoon.
East Sac got their offense off to a good start with Karter Ludwig and Weston Drost getting to third and second respectively off wild pitches, and were later scored by Luke Wernimont crushing a 2 RBI single. South Central Calhoun got off to a little slower start with two scoreless innings, but then produced runs in the third inning. Kaden Dorman reached first off a single and was later scored by Jayden Soard, who had an RBI single. Soard was later able to score off a wild pitch that tied up the ballgame at 2-2.
The Raiders offense got into a bit of a slump with runners left on the bags in the third and a three up, three down inning in the fourth. The Titans, on the other hand, were able to utilize some mistakes from East Sac and great hitting to rattle off seven runs in the fourth inning. Soard, Brock Nattress, and Joacob Kalkwarf were all able to record two RBI singles that scored six runners and helped give the Titans the 9-2 lead. The Titans added one last run to the board in the fifth inning to lead 10-2 thanks to Caled Juhl scoring a run. The Raiders were able to bounce back a bit with a three run fifth inning thanks to errors from the Titans. Preston Mauer got himself an RBI double while he, Aden Vondrak, and Weston Drost all scored to cut down the Titan lead to 10-5. Both teams’ offenses didn’t see much action after that as the Titans cruised to a 10-5 lead and defeated East Sac.
South Central Calhoun improves to 5-8 on the season while East Sac falls to 1-8-1. Up next for both teams, South Central Calhoun will host Newell Fonda on Wednesday, June 22nd while East Sac will travel to Sioux Central on Monday, June 20th.
