Carroll battled back with a huge 9th inning to finish off a 2-0 weekend. The Merchants had scored a run in the 2nd and 6th innings to lead early but Chillicothe took the lead with 5-runs in the 8th inning. Hunter Reid hit a 3-run blast in the 9th to end the game and improve the Merchants to 7-2.

Kyle Berg singled to center in the 2nd inning, scoring Garrett Freeman. The Merchants added a run in the 6th, with Garrett Freeman singled to left-center, driving in Seth Christiansen. Chillicothe cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 7th and then took the lead with a 5-run 8th inning. The Merchants rally began with a Noah Buss walk and a Parker Ingram single to left field. Kyle Berg kept the rally going with a walk and Jordan Mattewson walked to score Buss. Parker Ingram would score on a walk. Seth Christiansen hit a sac fly to to right field, scoring Berg. Kaleb Freeman singled to first base, scoring Matthewson. After Chillicothe intentionally walked Garrett Freeman, Hunter Reid made them pay with a 3-run home run to end the game.

Hunter Reid finished with 1 hit but it was a game winning 3-run home run in the 9th inning. Garrett Freeman had a team high 3 hits and scored twice. Seth Christiansen and Kyle Berg both had 2 hits and both drove in a run and scored a run. Ryan Riddle made another good start for the Merchants, going 6 innings, allowing 2 hits and an earned run while striking out 9.

The Merchants host St Joe on Monday for a doubleheader.
