Parker Ingram hit a 3-run home run in the 2nd inning, to get the Merchants started well, then Andrew Schreoder doubled to left field scoring Ingram in a 2-run 7th inning as Carroll picked up a big road win to move to 6-2. The Merchants took a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning but Clarinda battled back, scoring a run in the 3rd and tying the game in the 5th after Carroll scored a run in the top half, the A’s added 3 in the bottom half. Carroll won it with 2-runs in the top 7th.
Parker Ingram was the hero early with a 3-run blast in the 2nd and a solo shot in the 5th. Michael Alt started the scoring run in the 7th, getting on base, then scoring on a sac fly but Jordan Matthewson, putting Carroll up 5-4. The Merchants added an insurance run with Andrew Schroeder doubling to left to score Parker Ingram who had doubled.
Ingram finished the day with 3 hits, including a pair of home runs and a double. He drove in 4-runs. Andrew Schroeder and Kaleb Freeman both had 2 hits with Schroeder and Jordan Matthewson both having an RBI. Blake Nell pitched 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 4 earned runs. Alex Johnson earned the win pitching the final 2 innings, striking out 3.
