Kuemper at Atlantic

Kuemper 5

Atlantic 1

The Kuemper Knights were able to advance to substate Friday as they took on Atlantic in a winning effort. The Knights had some struggles against the Trojans, but overall, they had a solid time on the court, only dropping one match overall. Sam Jenssen and Josh Langel had the most successful days out of the bunch, with Janssen defeating Ethan Sturm 6-4 and 6-2 and Langel getting the win over Bryan York 6-4, 6-1. Hans Kraus had the most difficult day overall, having to win in extra points. He was able to get back Hunter Weppler by a score of 7-6 in both sets. Jake Hausman was the only loss the Knights suffered Friday, as he fell 6-4 in set one, and nearly lost set two 7-6. Jared Hausman dropped a few sets but won 6-3, 6-4 over Clevi Johnson. Finally, Max Reincke had a solid set one, winning 6-3, and ran into some trouble in set two against Nolan Waters, but ended up with the 7-6 win.

Fortunately for the Knights, they are a host site for Substate as they will go up against Spencer and host ELC vs Denison-Schleswig.
