Boys Golf Results for Tuesday, May 3rd
Kuemper at Atlantic Invite
The Kuemper Knights had another solid day on the course as they competed against 12 other schools at the Atlantic Invite Tuesday. The Knights as a team finished sixth among a tough field of golfers with a score of 335. ADM won the meet by 15 strokes over Winterset with a score of 305.
Maverick Schwabe had a consistent day at the invite, finishing sixth individually, medaling with a score of 78. Kayden Schon kept a good pace throughout the meet, finishing the day with a score of 83. Tyler Auen was a few steps behind Schon as he ended with a score of 86. Finally, Carter Putney stayed in the upper 80s, giving the Knights a score of 88. The Knights focus their attention to Thursday, May 5th when they travel to take on South Hamilton.

Coon Rapids Bayard and Glidden Ralston at Woodbine
The Coon Rapids Bayard and Glidden Ralston both had some good scores at Tuesday’s Rolling Valley Conference golf meet in Woodbine. The Crusaders ended the day in fourth place with a score of 193 while Glidden Ralston finished in sixth with a team score of 223. Boyer Valley was able to edge out CAM for the meet title with a score of 171.
Jacob Estrada shot the best among our area golfers, completing the course with a score of 45 and being ninth individually. Toby Benninger was a few strokes behind Estrada with a score of 48. Trey Rosenbeck was on track with Benninger with a day’s score of 49. Preston McAlister rounded out the scoring for the Crusaders with a score of 51. Elia Esdohr was able to complete the course with a score of 55.
Caden Wenck finished the best among his teammates with a score of 52. Tyler Brant, Coby Wallace, and John Whitver all had a one stroke difference between each other at the end of the day, with Brant finishing with a 56, Wallace with a 57, and Whitver finishing with a 58. Mark Lensch finished his day on the course with a score of 61.
Coming up for both teams this week, they will travel with their respective girls’ teams to Atlantic on Monday, May 9th.

South Central Calhoun at Pocahontas Area
South Central Calhoun put up another day of solid scores across the board Tuesday as they took on Pocahontas Area. The Titans won the meet as a team by eight strokes with a score of 169 compared to Pocahontas Area’s 177. Individually, the Titans once again put-up good performances. Justin Hanks captured another medalist honor as he ended the day one stroke above the course par with a score of 35. He was able to get birdies on holes one, three, six, and eight. Bryan Steig was right behind him as he was awarded runner up medalist honors with a score of 38. He also birdied on hole six while getting pars on holes two and eight. Nik Whipkey put up a solid score for the Titans, ending the day with a score of 47. Brady Schumacher rounded out the scoring for South Central Calhoun with a score of 49.
The Titans return to the course on Wednesday, May 4th when they participate in the Twin Lake Conference meet at Lakeside Municipal.
