The battle of the Tigers went down Tuesday as the Carroll Tigers took on the Gilbert Tigers where Carroll had good defense in the first half, but Gilbert found ways around it in the second half. Carroll in the first 15 minutes was struggling to get to Gilbert’s side of the pitch but was countering that issue with some solid defensive pressure. Gilbert was able to strike first in the match when they scored with 27:20 left in the first half. In the next eight minutes of the half, Gilbert was able to score three more times, including a scramble near Carroll’s net that ended up in Gilbert’s favor. The good part of the first half for Carroll was Jayden Kirsch who was a wall defending the net.
In the second half, it was all Gilbert from start to finish. They were able to score three goals in the first five minutes of the second half and ended the game with the 10th goal with around 11 minutes left. Carroll falls to 3-7. The Tigers will play host to Denison Schleswig on Thursday, May 5th.
