Carroll responded quickly to Sedalia scoring 3-runs top 1st inning with a 7-run bottom half. That propelled the Merchants to a convincing win in the first game of a doubleheader. The Merchants out hit the Bombers 12-10, highlighted by a grand slam home run by Hunter Reid and home runs by Parker Ingram and Danny Schweitzer. They built a 10-3 lead by the end of the 2nd inning and never looked back. Sedalia made a run in the top 6th inning, scoring 5 times but that only cut the Merchant lead to 14-8.
Andrew Schroeder scored on a 2-run home run in the bottom 1st, jumping a 7-run rally. Seth Christiansen singled to right field, scoring Kaleb Freeman and loading the bases. Hunter Reid blew the game open with a grand slam home run making it 7-3. Seth Christiansen drove in a pair of runs in the 2nd as the Merchants extended the lead to 9-3. Ingram added another RBI to his total with a double in the 5th, scoring Schroeder, making it 11-3. Danny Schweitzer homered with Kyle Berg on base later in the 5th inning, putting the Merchants ahead 14-3.
Parker Ingram had a team high 3 hits including a 2-run home run and a double. He drove in 3-runs and scored three times. Andrew Schroeder and Seth Christiansen both had 2 hits, Christiansen drove in 3-runs and Schroeder scored twice. Hunter Reid had a team high 4 RBI with his grand slam home run and Danny Schweitzer added a 2-run home run. Ryan Riddle got the win in the circle, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing 7 earned runs on 10 hits with 7 strikeouts.

Michael Alt and Noah Buss had big games offensively as the Merchants got on a roll early, cruising to their second win of the day. Alt and Buss combined for five of the teams eight hits and three of their six RBI. The Merchants struck early, with 3-runs in the 1st, added another in the 2nd, then blew the game open with 5-runs in the 3rd. Sedalia attempted to rally late with 2-runs in the 6th and 1 in the 7th.
Parker Ingram has been on fire this summer, and kept hitting the ball well Sunday, driving in a pair of runs in the bottom 1st with a single to right field, scoring Michael Alt and Andrew Schroeder. Kaleb Freeman drove in Ingram with a ground out and the Merchants led 3-0. Michael Alt picked up one of his three hits with an RBI double to left field in the 2nd inning, scoring Hunter Reid. Noah Buss tripled in the 3rd inning to center field, scoring Garrett Freeman and Danny Schweitzer to blow the game open, making it 7-0. The Merchants would add two more runs on wild pitches in the inning to lead 9-0.
Michael Alt had a team high 3 hits and Noah Buss tripled and had 2 hits along with 2 RBI. Parker Ingram drove in 2 runs and Hunter Reid scored twice in the win. Caden Johnson and Noah Dutler combined to allow 6 hits and 3 earned runs in 7 innings. Johnson went 4 innings, allowing 2 hits and no runs. Dutler finished with 3 innings, 6 hits allowed and 3 earned runs. Both guys struck out 3.
The Merchants host St Joe on Wednesday.
