The Merchants stranded six runners on base Sunday, falling to 0-3 against St Joe in a matchup of the leagues top two teams. St Joe had a half game lead on the Merchants coming into Sunday, increasing their lead to a 1 1/2 games. St Joe struck in the 2nd inning, scoring with the bases loaded on a ground out to the shortstop where the Merchants tried to turn a double play. They added a pair of runs in the 3rd, on a 2 hits, including a triple. Carroll struck back in the bottom of 3rd with Michael Alt reaching on a fielders choice and scoring on a double by Bryce Yosko. Carroll went down in order in the 4th and 5th inning. St Joe added to their lead in the 6th, scoring 3-runs to lead 6-1. The Merchants left a runner on base in both the 6th and 7th innings, then scored in the 8th. Dillon Kuehl singled to start the inning, moving to 2nd on a ground out by Bryce Yosko. He took 3rd on a wild pitch, then scored on a ground out by Joe Scarborough. The Merchants had one last chance but went down in order in the bottom 7th.
