Kuemper looked like a ranked team again on Saturday, coming out quickly against East Sac, leading 10-0 to start and 16-4 after the 1st quarter. The Knights ran away with the game in the 2nd quarter, holding the Raiders to 7-points while scoring 24 on their way to a 40-11 lead at half. Kuemper took away the Raiders inside game while sharing the basketball very well on the offensive end. The Knights ball movement in the 1st half, led to great looks. Kuemper finished the game, hitting 32-69 from the field, going 7-22 from beyond the arc. They turned the ball over 6 times while forcing East Sac into 13 turnovers. The Raiders made an effort to get the inside game going in the 2nd half, with Luke Wright and Ryan Clair both getting good looks. The Raiders shots 37.3% from the field, making 3-8 from beyond the arc.
DJ Vonnahme opened the scoring with a free throw, followed by 5 quick points from Dawson Gifford. Michael Kasperbauer knocked down a shot and Carson Kanne got to the lane and scored and Kuemper led 10-0. Ryan Clair scored to get East Sac started, followed by a Caleb Eichorn basket and East Sac was down 12-4. They didn’t score again in the quarter and Kuemper went on a 12-0 run to lead 24-4 early in the 2nd quarter. The Knights kept the pressure up the rest of the quarter and led 40-11 at half.
Michael Kasperbauer scored to start the 2nd half, followed by a bucket from Carson Kanne and Kuemper led 44-11. East Sac fought back with a basket by Luke Wright. The Knights extended the lead to 34, their largest of the game with a three from Dawson Gifford but East Sac responded with five straight points from Luke Wright, followed by a three from Brody Boeckman. The Raiders were able to get their inside game going in the 2nd half and Kuemper played all 16 guys suited during the game. Kuemper led by 30 twice more in the game but that was as big as the led got.
Michael Kasperbauer had a team high 12 points for the Knights with 14 guys scoring for them. Dawson Gifford, Trevor Rial and Brock Badding all had 8 points. DJ Vonnahme paced the Knights on the boards with 8 with Carter Putney pulling down 7 and Evan Adams with 6. Putney had a team high 3 steals.
Luke Wright finished with a double-double for East Sac with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Clair added 8 points and 10 rebounds. Aden Vondrak dished out 7 assists.
The Knights have won 10 straight, improving to 10-1 overall. They Glenwood on Friday. East Sac drops to 2-5 and will travel to GTRA on Monday.

The Titans won a huge contest on the road in a high scoring affair. Their offense continues to be impressive scoring 18 or more points in three different quarters. The game was tied at 18 after the 1st quarter before South Central Calhoun gave themselves a little space with a 26-point 2nd quarter. They led 44-39 at half. They continue to shoot the ball well, part of that is because of how well they share the ball. The Titans had 14 assists on 25 made baskets, shooting 51% from the field and 41.7% from beyond the arc. They were huge at the free throw line, making 25 of 34. South Hamilton rallied in the 3rd, pulling within 2 heading to the 4th. Both offenses clicked in the 4th quarter but South Central Calhoun outscored South Hamilton 28-22 to win by 8.
The Titans had four players in double figures with Eli Wheelock leading the way with 26 points. Wheelock added 6 assists. Gavin Batta scored 25 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. Tyler Lightner scored 15 points to go with 4 assists and 3 steals and Keegan Soard scored 10 points and had 3 steals. Joe Clark added 3 steals.
The win improves South Central Calhoun to 7-1 overall. They host Humboldt on Tuesday.
