East Sac played their fourth game this week and battled hard but the game slipped away in the 2nd quarter when GTRA went on an 8-0 run to build a 24-15 lead. Sam Julin had pulled the Raiders within 16-15 with a three, one of his four in the game. GTRA responded with an 8-0 run and built a 29-17 lead at half. The Raiders struggled to get good looks on offense and didn’t shoot well when they had good looks, finishing 15-53 from the field, or 28.3%. They only attempted five three throws as the two teams combined for eight free throw attempts.
East Sac led twice early with Asher Lawler scored to open the game, putting them up 2-0, then Sam Julin hit a three and they led 5-2. A 6-0 GTRA run put them on top but East Sac fought back with Zach Jacobsen making a free throw, then hitting a three, giving the Raiders their last lead at 9-8. Teagan Harrison finished the game with 26 points for GTRA. He hit a three putting them on top 11-9 at the end of the 1st quarter. GTRA stretched their lead to 14-9 early in the 2nd quarter. Zach Jacobsen hit a three and Sam Julin responded to a Titans basket with a three and East Sac was down 16-15 early in the 2nd quarter. An 8-0 run by GTRA pushed their lead to 24-15 and they held a 29-18 lead at half.
A pair of baskets by GTRA to start the 2nd half pushed the lead to 33-18. Jack Gullett ended the run with a three, pulling East Sac to within 33-21. GTRA used a 7-1 spurt to build a 40-22 lead before Asher Lawler hit back-to-back baskets but GTRA kept the pressure on, going up by as many as 21.
Asher Lawler had a nice double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, 10 on the defensive end. Sam Julin had 12 points and 4 assists. Jack Gullett added 9 points and 6 rebounds. Kade Snyder pulled down 5 rebounds.
The Raiders fell to 7-10 overall and will host Pocahontas Area on Tuesday.
