The Carroll Tigers pick up a district win on Friday on their senior night over Sioux Center. The win also keeps the Tigers playoff hopes alive as they head into the last week of the regular season. Sioux Center scored on their opening drive to take an early lead over Carroll 7-0. The Tiger’s defense was great all night, picking up seven tackles for loss and an interception. The Tigers would add a couple of touchdowns in the first and second quarter on rushes by Taidyn Peterson. Carroll would leave 13-7 at the half over Sioux Central. The Tigers would roll in the second half as well the defense didnt give up any points. Carroll added another touchdown in the the third quarter as they extended their lead to 20-7. The Tigers would go on to win 27-7.

Taidyn Peterson had a great game on the ground, rushing for 217 yards on 30 carries and three touchdowns in the win. As a team, the Tigers ran for over 300 yards on the ground. With the success on the ground, Carroll didn’t have to throw the ball that much. Carter Essick was 6-12 for 73 yards and a touchdown. Reece Ziegmann was the leading receiver for Carroll with 36 yards and a touchdown on three catches. Quinten Polking and Jeisson Avilez recorded a team-high four tackles. Maddox White had 3.5 tackles and an interception on defense. With the win, Carroll improves to 5-3. The Tigers are back in action on Friday against Boyden-Hull Rock Valley.
