Boys and Girls Track Results For Thursday, May 9th
Audubon Boys, Glidden-Ralston, Coon Rapids-Bayard and Paton Churdan at Earlham
The Audubon Boys, Glidden-Ralston, Coon Rapids-Bayard, and Paton Churdan competed in Earlham on Thursday at the state qualifying meet, with six events punching their ticket to the state meet. The first ticket punched was the CRB girl’s shuttle hurdle relay. Lauren Cook, Aubrey Hofbauer, Amelia Eddy, and Malia Clayburg ran a time of 1:11.53, taking home first place. Also, for the Crusaders, Cal Heydon finished in first in the shot put with a throw of 46-06. The Crusaders, Caden Oswald, also captured a first-place finish in the open 200 with a time of 23.09. For the Audubon Wheelers, Aaron Olsen captured a state meet birth with a first-place finish in the 100-meter run with a time of 11.34. The Wheelers distance medley team of Mason Steckler, Adam Obrecht, Brody Schultes, and Zeke Konkler ran a time of 3:44.37, taking home a first-place finish. Konkler also won the 800 meters with a time of 2:04.17. For Paton Churdan, their best finishes came at the field events for both the boys and girls. Trevon Keely finished second in the high jump with a jump of 6-04. Alivya Smith was eight in the discus with a throw of 85-02. Wade Hunter of Glidden-Ralston finished third in the shot put with a throw of 44-01.25. The Glidden-Ralston girl’s sprint medley team finished seventh. Tiela Janssen, BreAnn Hartwigsen, Kassidy Wenck, and Allison Snyder ran a time of 2:11.90.
