The Kuemper Knights pick up a win at home over Storm Lake on Friday in very windy conditions. The Knights came out aggressive in Friday’s win, scoring two goals in the first half. Kuemper went with the wind in the first half and recorded 11 shots in the half. With just over 30 minutes left in the first half, Cierra Pudenz capitalized on a one-on-one opportunity and scored the first goal for Kuemper, making the score 1-0. Approximately ten minutes later, Ashlyn Foley extended the Kuemper lead to 2-0. The Knights would have more chances to score but were unable to capitalize, and Kuemper would lead 2-0 going to the half. To start the second half, Storm Lake scored their only goal of the match to cut into the Kuemper lead at 2-1. Pudenz added another goal with over 37 minutes left in the second half to give the Knights a 3-1. Kuemper would not score the rest of the game and went on to win 3-1. With the win, Kuemper improved to 3-4. The Knights are back in action on Monday against Carroll.

The Carroll Tigers drop a game at home against ADM on Friday. Carroll’s defense struggled in the first half as they gave up nine goals in the first 40 minutes as ADM had the wind at their back in the 1st half. Carroll trailed 9-0 at the half. It was a windy day on Friday, which played into the struggles of the Tigers. ADM added one more goal in the second half with 23:00 left to win by mercy rule 10-0. Carroll had a chance to get on the board on a nice cross from Paige Pothoff. The Tigers nearly had a goal with Parker Adams was fouled right outside the box and the ball ricocheted around the box but was cleared by ADM. Parker Adams added a pair of shots on goal.  With the loss, Carroll falls to 1-8 on the season and has lost six in a row. The Tigers are back in action on Monday against Kuemper.
