Carson Kanne scored with under a minute left and Kuemper earns a huge 1-0 win over Underwood on Thursday at the fieldhouse. Michael Kasperbauer started the game winning play with a drop kick and Fletch Badding was able to find Kanne for the goal. The game was scoreless up t0 that point as both defenses and the windy conditions hampered the offenses. Michael Kasperbauer had a strong night in goal with 8 saves.
The win improves Kuemper to 3-2 overall as they prepare to Creighton on Friday to play against St Albert.

The Tigers dropped a heartbreaker on a cold, windy and misty night in Huxley. The game was scoreless through regulation with having chances to win in regulation and the 2nd overtime. The game went into penalty kicks and in round 1 the teams would tie at 2-2. Ballard scored first but Jameson Polking tied it for Carroll. After another PK by Ballard, Elias Villanueva tied it at 2. Tanner Heithoff then made three straight saves for Carroll but the Tigers missed one PK and had their next two blocked. Ballard got the 1st shot in the PK round of sudden death. They were able to punch it in and Carroll missed, giving Ballard a 3-2 win in PK’s and a 1-0 win.
Tanner Heithoff finished the night with 8 saves while Jamison Polking had 2 shots on goal with Kieran Polking, Landon Petersen and Elias Villanueva all had 1 shot on goal.
Carroll falls to 2-3 on the season and will host Carlisle on Monday.
