Carroll took on a strong Thomas Jefferson team in the tournament opener for both teams. The Yellow Jackets used their team speed and the wind to their advantage early, jumping out to a 4-0 lead at half. They added three more goals in the 2nd half. Carroll struggled to get shots against their stingy defense, not taking a shot on goal. Marin Overmohle played well in goal, finishing with 17 saves.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 1-3 on the season and set them up to play South Sioux City in the second tournament game.

Carroll took some steps forward in their second match of the invite, passing the ball well and playing well on the defensive end. Paige Potthoff and Parker Adams both had shots on goal but South Sioux City worked their way to a 2-0 lead at half. The Cardinals used the wind to help them score in the 1st half, then got a quick goal to start the 2nd half, extending their lead to 3-0. The defense pitched a shutout the rest of the game as Marin Overmohle finished with 8 saves.
The loss drops Carroll to 1-4 on the season. The Tigers head to LoMa on Tuesday.
