Girls Soccer Results Thursday, March 28th

Harlan At Carroll High

Harlan 9

Carroll High 0

Carroll started slowly to start both halves but played much better after the first few minutes of each half. Harlan struck for four early goals, building a 6-0 lead at half. The Tigers struggled to penetrate deep on the Cyclone defense in the opening minutes. The Cyclones had a match already this season and the growth teams make between game one and two  was beneficial for them. Harlan added a pair of quick goals to start the 2nd half but Carroll again settled in and didn’t allow another goal until late. Carroll nearly scored in the 2nd half as Jersey Sporrer broke free and had a shot on goal but Harlan made the stop. Sporrer played well in her first ever varsity game and will team with Parker Adams and Paige Pothoff to give the Tigers three potential scoring threats. Marin Overmohle, making her first start in goal, did a nice job of communicating and showed played well. Azaya Martinez and Kloee Jones were also strong for the Tigers on the defensive side.

The Tigers start the season 0-1 and are off until Monday when they travel to Bondurant Farrar.

Carroll Stats

Jersey Sporrer 1 Shot on Goal

Marin Overmohle 10 Saves

Kloee Jones 1 Save
