East Sac County, Kuemper, and South Central Calhoun at Class 1A District 7
The East Sac County Raiders send two individuals to the state tournament, The Kuemper Knights send five, and South Central Calhoun sends two. A total of five local wrestlers captured district championships at Ogden on Saturday. At 120 pounds, Caleb Hoffman was a district champion for the Kuemper Knights. Hoffman went 2-0, winning both matches via pin. Tate Bieret was the second Kuemper wrestler to pick up a district title. Bieret went 2-0 on Saturday, picking up two pins. Jake Irlbeck, Coby Pierce, and Bryce Wiskus were the other state qualifiers for the Knights, finishing in second place in their weight classes. Bradyn Burns and Chalie Veit picked up district championships for the East Sac County Raiders. Burns went 3-0 for ESC in the 132-pound weight class, picking up three pins. Veit also went 3-0 at 144 for the Raiders. Brock Nattress for South Central Calhoun picked up a district title at 150 pounds. Nattress went 2-0 for the Titans. Naylan Gulbranson was the second Titan to qualify for the state tournament, finishing second at 165 pounds.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders wrestled well Saturday night but did not advance any wrestlers to the state tournament. The Crusaders finished ninth in the team standings out of ten teams, scoring 43.5 team points. CRB had three wrestlers finish in the top four. Johnny Cortez finished in third place for CRB, scoring 18 team points. At 144 pounds, Ethan Bauer finished in third place, scoring 13.5 points for the Crusaders. Audubon and Carroll at Glenwood Class 2A District 4
The Carroll Tigers showed how strong of a team they have Saturday in Glenwood at the district meet. The Tigers qualified eight wrestlers for the state tournament. The Audubon Wheelers send one to the state tournament. The Tigers had four wrestlers pick up a district title on Saturday. Cael Nelson picked up a championship at 138 pounds. Nelson went 2-0 to advance to the state tournament. Cooper Ludwig was the second Tiger to pick up a district title. Ludwig went 3-0 at 150 pounds, picking up three wins via pin. Chase Ragaller picked up two wins at 165 to capture the third title for the Tigers. Carroll’s final district champion was Quinten Polking at 190 pounds. Polking went 3-0 on Saturday to advance to the state tournament. Beckett Hagen, Levi Dirkx, Owen Klocke, and Kieran Polking finish in second in their respective weight class to advance to Des Moines to the state tournament. For Audubon, they had one wrestler qualify for the tournament. At 113 pounds, Lane Elmquist finished in second. The Carroll Tigers also picked up a team title at the district meet.
