A 10-0 run by Kuemper in the 1st quarter gave them the lead for good as they snapped a four game losing streak, sending the Raiders to their fourth straight defeat. The game changed leads four times and was tied twice in the first 4:00 of the 1st quarter. Both teams came out firing on offense with Lauren Boell getting to the rim, causing Addisen Ehler to pick-up two quick fouls. That hurt the Raiders and her and Kendall Quirk struggled with foul trouble all game. The Raiders trailed by 7 at the end of the 1st quarter but were down 29-15 at half as both offenses struggled in the 2nd quarter. Kuemper blew the game open in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Raiders 25-10.

The game had changed leads three times but the time Jen Aschinger hit a three to put the Raiders up 6-4. Lauren Boell pulled the Knights within 6-5 before Makenna Steiger scored to make it 8-5. A Kaylie Simons three tied the game at 8. The Raiders grabbed their last lead on a Steiger bucket. Lauren Boell hit a free throw and Franie Glynn tied it with a free throw as the Knights were winning the battle inside. Kaylie Simons put Kuemper ahead with a steal and layup and the Knights would extend the lead to 20-10. Makenna Steiger hit a three for East Sac to end the quarter but Kuemper used a 7-0 run to close the half to lead 29-15.

A Karsyn Overmohle three midway through the 3rd quarter ignited Kuemper as they closed the quarter with a 9-0 run, giving the Knights a 54-25 lead heading into the 4th quarter. Lauren Boell had a big stretch for the Knights during the run, getting to the  rim and drawing fouls as Kuemper outshot the Raiders 18-6 from the free throw, hitting 13 of them to the Raiders 2. Both teams subbed in the 4th quarter and every kid that suited played minutes.

Aubrey Heuton had a nice day shooting from the wing for the Knights, hitting 3 of 4 from 3 and finishing with a team high 13-points. Lauren Boell added 11-points and was 7-10 from the line. Kaylie Simons added 10points and Frannie Glynn had 8-points and 7 rebounds. Elsa Tiefenthaler had 8-points, Karsyn Overmohle dished out 7 assists and Addy Anthofer added 6 rebounds.

Makenna Steiger paced the Raiders with 14-pointss, going 2-5 from 3. Sarah Bontrager added 9-points and Jen Aschinger had 7-points and 4 assists. Kendall Quirk had 9 rebounds and Addisen Ehler finished with 7 rebounds.

The Knights improved to 4-7 and will host Denison Schleswig on Tuesday. East Sac slips to 4-7 and will host Storm Lake St Mary’s on Friday.

It was a tough outing for Ar-We-Va on Saturday at home, falling to Woodbury Central 74-9. Delaney Schurke paced the Rockets with 5-points while grabbing 3 rebounds. Hallie McCollough and Michelle Mohr both had 2-points. The loss drops the Rockets to 1-10. They host Coon Rapids Bayard on Tuesday.
