Carroll At Raccoon River Invite At ADM
Carroll girls had a strong showing on Saturday with seven on ten girls placing in the top 7 and four of those in the top 3. The Tigers finished 6th overall with 109-points while Raccoon River-Northwest won the meet with 239-points and Ankeny was 2nd with 173.5-points. Carroll finished the meet with 18 wins in matches wrestled, going 18-16 with fifteen wins by fall, two decisions and a major-decision.
Julia Kanne was a champ for the Tigers at 110-pounds, going 3-0 with all three of her wins by fall. She won her title match in 0:59. Sunny McGowan was 2nd at 105-pounds, going 2-1 with a pair of wins by fall. McGowan fell in the championship match 8-4. Brianna Kiger ended her day 3rd at 115-pounds, going 3-1. She had a win by fall, a decision and a major-decision. She won her 3rd place match by fall in 2:33. Kloee Jones gave Carroll a fourth girl in the top 3, taking 3rd at 140-pounds. Jones went 3-1 with all three wins by fall. She lost in the semifinals, but came back to win her next two matches, earning a pin in 2:36 in her 3rd place match.

East Sac and South Central Calhoun At Boone Tournament
South Central Calhoun placed three wrestlers in the top 3 and East Sac had one girl in the top 3 on Saturday. The Titans went 16-16 in matches wrestled with fifteen wins by fall and a medical forfeit. The Raiders were 5-12 in matches wrestled with all five wins by fall. South Central Calhoun earned a 5th place finish with 85-points while East Sac was 8th with 36-points. Ridge View won the tournament with 156-points with Nevada 2nd with 101-points.
Evelyn Kramer was dominant again for South Central Calhoun, winning all four of her matches by fall, including the 110-pound championship match in 5:42. She was the lone champion for either school.
