Boys Wrestling Results Saturday, December 16th 

Kuemper At Carroll Invite 

Carroll claimed the crown at their tournament on Saturday, having two champions, six other wrestlers finish in 2nd or 3rd place and twelve of thirteen wrestlers place in the top five of their weight class. They scored 211-points to beat Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln by 31-points. Kuemper has a strong showing with seven wrestlers competing on the day. The Knights had all seven place in the top six with a champion and two other wrestlers finish in 3rd place. Kuemper was 6th with 98-points, just behind Pocahontas Area, which took 5th with 101-points. Carroll was 24-17 in matches wrestled with fifteen wins by fall, five decisions, a tech fall, two major decisions and a injury-fault. The Knights were 15-11 in matches wrestled with twelve wins by fall and three by decision.

Owen Klocke was a Tigers champion, winning the 157-pound class with a 3-0 mark with two wins by fall and a 3-1 in in the championship match. Cael Nelson was also a champion for the Tigers, winning the 138-pound class, finishing the tournament 3-0. Nelson had two wins by fall and a tech fall. He won his title match by fall in 2;46. Beckett Hagen was 2nd at 126-pounds with a 1-1 day with his win by injury-default. Levi Dirkx was 2nd at 132-pounds, going 2-1 with both wins by fall. Chase Ragaller finished 2nd at 165-pounds, going 1-1 with a major decision. Kieran Polking went 2-1 with a win by fall and a decision, taking 2nd at 175-pounds. Carson Tedrow was 3rd at 113-pounds with a three wins in four matches with a fall, tech fall and a decision. Quintin Polking went 3-1 at 190-pounds, taking 3rd place with all three of  his wins by fall. Jeisson Avilez De Leon took 3rd at 285-pounds with a 3-1 record with wins by fall, major decision and a decision.

Bryce Wiskus won the 215-pound title for Kuemper, going 2-0 with both wins by fall including a pin in 0:17 in the title match. Jake Irlbeck went 3-1 with a pair of wins by fall and a decision, taking 3rd at 157-pounds. Tate Bieret was 3rd at 175-pounds with a 3-1 day with all three wins by fall.

Audubon At Western Iowa Conference Individual Tournament At Riverside 

Audubon had two of their eight wrestlers finish in the top three with six wrestlers place in the top six, They finished 8th overall as a team with 68-points. The Wheelers were 8-16 in matches wrestled with five wins by fall and three wins by decision.

Lane Elmquist went 2-1 at 113-pounds with both wins by fall. He fell in the championship match. Jack Stanerson was 3rd at 132-pounds, Stanerson was 2-1 with both of his wins by decision. He won his 3rd place match 7-6.

The Raiders took five wrestlers to the tournament on Saturday in Cherokee with a champion and a 2nd place finish. They had four guys place in the top six, finishing 10th overall with 68-points. The Raiders were 6-8 in matches wrestled with all six wins by fall.

Charlie Veit continued his outstanding senior campaign, going 3-0 to win the title at 144-pounds with all three of his wins by fall, including a pin in 1:50 in the title match. Bradyn Burns lost in the title match at 132-pounds, taking 2nd place with a 2-1 record with both of his wins by fall.

Their lone loss came to Lawton Bronson (51-30).
