South Central Calhoun put the game away in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Jaguars 17-2, playing with higher intensity on both ends of the floor. Higgins three and a buck from Bryce Berquist put the Titans up 5-4 with Andrew Anderson making it 7-4. A late three from SE Valley tied the game at 7, heading to the 2nd quarter. Andrew Anderson put the Titans up by three to start the 2nd quarter, hitting the first of five 3’s for him. Keegan Soard extended it to 12-7 but SE Valley rallied, scoring 7 straight to lead 14-12. Gavin Batta tied the game at 14 but SCC fell behind by three again. Andrew Anderson tied the game at 19 and Keegan Soard put them ahead for good. Gavin Batta hit a pair of free throws to close the half and South Central Calhoun led 29-25 at the break.
Andrew Anderson hit a three to start the 2nd half and after a bucket from Cole Higgs and free throws from Gavin Batta, Anderson hit another three and South Central Calhoun was in control of the game. The lead grew to 46-27 by the end of the 3rd on a bucket by Keegan Soard. The Titans outscored the Jaguars 17-2 in the 3rd quarter and SE Valley never got closer than 19 until the final moments of the game when they scored the final 7-points of the game. Gavin Batta hit a bucket to give them their biggest lead at 54-29.
Andrew Anderson hit 5-3’s to led the Titans with 19-points, Gavin Batta added 16-points and 7 rebounds. Keegan Soard was big inside with 10 rebounds with 9-points. Bryce Berquist finished with 7-points and 9 rebounds and Cole Higgins added 8 assists. Gavin Batta blocked 4 shots.
The Titans improved to 3-3 overall, having won 3 in a row. They host Emmetsburg on KIKD 106.7 on Friday in Lake City.
