East Sac County at Dike-New Hartford

The East Sac County girls had one finisher in the top 35 as they ran at Dike-New Hartford for their state qualifying meet. The top finisher for ESC was Libbie Veit, as she came in 32nd place. The Raiders had two other girls finish the race on Thursday. Kortni Thomsen came in 74th, and Julia Wagner finished 81st for the Raiders. Hillary Trainor of Summer-Fredericksburg qualified for the state cross country meet, coming in first place with an overall time of 17:51. Denver won the team title with 81 points, which qualified them as a team for state. Forest City finished in second in the team title, which also qualified them for state with a total of 82 points. The Raiders did not qaulify for a team title due to only having three runs participate.

Ar-We-Va, Audubon, and South Central Calhoun at Panorama 

Three area teams competed at Panorama to try to qualify for the state cross-country meet. Chloe Judisch of South Central Calhoun finished in fourth place on Thursday and qualified for the state meet. Iris Melody just missed out on a state bid, finishing in 11th for the Titans. Bre Patterson was the third-place finisher for the Titans, coming in 24th for SCC. Stef Beisswenger was the only runner for Audubon as she finished in 20th. Ar-We-Va also had one runner. Gabrielle Handling of Ar-We-Va finished in 60th for the Rockets. Alyssa Richman of Manson Northwest Webster ran the fastest time, recording 19:21, which was over 20 seconds faster than second place. Adair-Casey Guthrie Center took home the team title and qualified for the state meet as a team, recording 80 points. Treynor was second with 93 points. South Central Calhoun missed the state meet as a team, finishing in third with 103 points. Ar-We-Va and Audubon did not qualify for a team score.

IKM-Manning at Spencer

Two girls for the IKM-Manning Cross Country team qualify for the state meet with top ten finishes Thursday. Reagan Garrison finished in third place at Spencer for the Wolves to punch a ticket to the state meet. Taylor Beckendorf was the other state qualifier for the Wolves, as she finished in eighth place. Emily Albertsen finished in 17th for IKM-Manning. Nora Peterson of Alta-Aurelia finished in first place individually, running a time of 19:36, which was almost a whole minute faster than the second-place finisher. Woodbine won the team title, finishing with 50 points, which qualified them for the state meet as a team. Hinton finished in second with 52 points. IKM-Manning was fourth in the team race, recording 91 points.
