The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders pick up a big home win against Colo-Nesco behind a great rushing attack. Both teams scored a touchdown in the first quarter, and we were tied 6-6 going to the second quarter. Colo-Nesco added another score in the second quarter and took a 12-6 lead going into the half. In the second half, the offense picked up. The Crusaders were able to take a 28-20 lead, going to the fourth behind a 22-point third quarter. The Crusaders defense was big in the fourth quarter, shutting out Colo-Nesco, and they would come away with a 34-20 win.
CRB ran for over 460 yards as a team. Wyatt Oswald was the Crusaders leading rusher, carrying it 21 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Caden Oswald also went over the century mark on the ground with 165 yards on 18 carries, scoring two touchdowns. Cal Heydon caught two passes for 49 yards. Definitely, Heydon was the leading tackler with 8.5 tackles and had an interception. With the win, the Crusaders ended their season with a 3-5 record.
