Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: The Carroll Tigers Fall On The Road Friday Night

The Carroll Tigers fall on the road to Sioux Center as they are eliminated from a playoff spot. The tigers struggled on offense in rainy conditions. The Carroll defense played well all game but fell down 12-0 in the first quarter. Sioux Center would add another touchdown in the second quarter and take an 18-0 lead at the half. Carroll only managed six yards of offense in the first half. Coming out of the half, Sioux Center extended their lead 25-0 over Carroll. The Tigers added a touchdown in the fourth quarter on a one-yard touchdown run by Carter Essick to cut into the Sioux Center lead. The Tigers were unable to score the rest of the game and lost 25-6 to Sioux Center.

Essick completed only two of his eight passes and threw two interceptions. Reece Ziegmann was the leading ball carrier for Carroll. He recorded five carries for 42 yards. Taidyn Peterson and Payton Wardell each recorded a catch in the game. On defense, Quinten Polking led the Tigers in tackles with ten. Peterson was second on the team with 8.5 tackles. The loss drops Carroll to 2-6. The Tigers are back in action on Friday at home against Boyden Hull Rock Valley on 1380 AM/95.1 FM KCIM.
