The IKM-Manning Wolves stay alive for a playoff birth with a blowout win at home against Southwest Valley. The Wolves have been a balanced team on offense all year but rushed for over 300 yards Friday night. IKM-Manning led the whole game as they jumped out to a 13-0 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter was closer, with Southwest Valley cutting into the IKM-Manning lead, but the Wolves would take a 19-7 lead into the locker room. The Wolves took over in the second half, putting up 12 points in the third quarter to take a 31-7 lead going to the fourth. IKM-Manning would put the game away in the fourth quarter, scoring two touchdowns, and would go on to win 45-7.
IKM-Manning ran for over 300 yards as a team. Ben Langel led the way on the ground with 196 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns. Ben Ramsey completed over 50 percent of his passes, connecting on nine of 16 for 112 yards. Davis Rasmussen was the second-leading rusher, carrying the ball 13 times for 63 yards and a touchdown. IKM-Mannign spread the ball around in the passing game. Lane Sams caught three passes for 59 yards. Ross Kusel caught four passes for 48 yards. The Wolves were fantastic on defense. Nolan Kerkhoff led the team in tackles with 7.5. Ben Ramsey has also played great at the outside linebacker position for the Wolves. He recorded six tackles and an interception. With the win, IKM-Manning improves to 4-3 and wraps up their district schedule at 3-3. The Wolves are back in action on Friday against LoMa.
