Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll Battles Tough Field At Johnston Invite Saturday

Carroll At Johnston Invite 

Carroll raced against the toughest competition they will see all season, until the State Tournament. The Tigers swam well with Amelia Holt setting a personal best in the 100 Fly in 1:05.39 and Emma Myers improving her 100 Breast, going 1:07.24. The Tigers took 6th place overall with 81-points. Waukee won the meet with 391-points, Dowling was 2nd with 343-points and Johnston was 3rd with 143-points.

Emma Myers had Carroll top finish, taking 2nd in the 100 Fly in 1:05.39. She added a 4th place in the 200 IM in 2:18.82. Carroll was 5th in 200 Medley Relay in 2:01.04 with Mai Wellingerhof, Emma Myers, Hailey Burns and Zelda DeMoss and were 5th in the 200 Free Relay in 1:46.40 with Emma Myers, Mai Wellingerhof, Natalie Kent and Amelia Holt. Amelia Holt took 7th in the 100 Fly and 8th in the 50 Free. Mai Wellingerhof added an 8th place in the 100 Back to  her strong day.

Carroll has a busy week this week with a home meet at Denison Vs Sioux City West on Tuesday and at the Lewis Central Invite on Saturday.
