Girls Swimming Results Saturday, September 23rd
Carroll finished in 1st or 2nd in every event but one on their way to a 2nd place finish overall with 406 points, hanging tight with champion Des Moines Lincoln with 436 points, The Tigers easily outdistanced 3rd place Indianola with 317 points. Carroll won two of the three relays and won three individual events. They finished 2nd in the third relay and were 2nd in four individual events.
The meet started well for Carroll, winning the 200 Medley Relay with Mai Wellingerhof, Emma Myers, Hailey Burns and Zelda DeMoss. They swam a 1:57.64. Myers came back in the next event, winning the 200 Free in 2:05.12. Amelia Holt gave Carroll a second individual title, winning the 100 Fly in 1:06.31. Holt, joined Emma Myers, Hailey Burns and Natalie Kent to win the 200 Free Relay in 1:47.12. Myers got the Tigers their last title, winning the 100 Breast in 1:08.25.
Mai Wellingerhof earned a 2nd place finish in the 200 IM and the 100 Back, Hailey Burns was 2nd in the 100 Free, Amelia Holt was 2nd in the 50 Free and Carroll took 2nd in the 400 Free Relay with Zelda DeMoss, Natalie Kent, Mai Wellingerhof and Amelia Holt.
