Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Turnovers Hurt East Sac At Emmetsburg on Friday

East Sac struggled on offense, turning it over four times, two returned for touchdowns, while Emmetsburg was able to establish the ground game, chewing up clock. The E-Hawks used their size advantage up front to pound out 301-yards on the ground. They held the ball for 37:36, holding East Sac to 10:24 time of possession. The Raiders finished the game with 122-yard passing but ran for just 3-yards.

The East Sac defense forced a fumble, recovered by Brett Thayer on the opening drive, turning it into a field goal by Luke Wright. The 20-yard kick, put the Raiders on top 3-0 with 7:43 left in the 1st quarter. Emmetsburg answered, scoring touchdowns on two of their next three possessions, taking a 14-3 lead at half. Back-to-back interceptions returned for touchdowns to open the 2nd half blew the game open for the E-Hawks, who scored 26-points in the 3rd quarter. They added a pair of rushing touchdowns to cap the scoring. The continuous clock in the 4th quarter limited the chances for the Raiders to cut into the deficit.

East Sac falls to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the district, while Emmetsburg moved to 2-2 and 1-0. The Raiders host Pocahontas Area on Friday.
