The Carroll girls claimed six championships, having seven other 2nd or 3rd place finishes but fell in their season opener on the road. Both Carroll and Lewis Central are not able to swim in their own pool early in the season as the Carroll Rec Center remains under construction and the Lewis Central pool was hit by a tornado. The meet was different for the girls as they hadn’t been swimming meters but adapted well.
Mai Wellingerhof, Emma Myers, Hailey Burns and Zelda DeMoss won the first title for the Tigers this season, winning the 200 Medley Relay in 2:12.99. Amelia Holt had a strong meet, winning the 50 Free in 29.59, Emma Myers won the 100 Free in 1:02.40, Myers teamed with Hailey Burns, Amelia Holt and Natalie Kent to win the 200 Free Relay. Myers won her fourth title in the 100 Breast, swimming a 1:17.64. Carroll closed out the meet winning the 400 Free Relay in 4:40.75 with Mai Wellingerhof, Zelda DeMoss, Natalie Kent and Amelia Holt.
Other top finishes for Carroll included Natalie Kent 3rd in the 200 Free, Mai Wellingerhof in the 200 IM, Amelia Holt in the 100 Fly, Hailey Burns in the 100 Free, Mai Wellingerhof 2nd and Hailey Burns 3rd in the 100 Back and the 400 Free Relay team of Allison Drake, Meranda Gruber, Lydia Dose and Ella Perry taking 3rd.
