Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Audubon Hurt by Turnovers in Loss to CAM on Friday

Audubon struggled on offense, punting on their first five drives, then turning it over on their next two possessions. The defense caused a punt on the opening drive, then picked off a pass on the Cougars second possession. CAM scored touchdowns on the next three possessions, building a 22-0 lead. Audubon got on the board on a 38-yard punt return by Austin Christensen with 6:54 left in the 1st half.  The Wheelers pulled within 10 midway through the 3rd quarter on a 5-yard Carson Wessel run. They had the ball a few minutes later with a chance to cut into the deficit but CAM intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, extending the lead to 28-12. Audubon turned it over two more times, leading to a couple more scores for the Cougars, pushing the lead to 30-points. CAM outgained the Wheelers 330 to 193 in total offense, holding a 133 to 30 advantage through the air. 

Aaron Olsen led the Wheelers with 60-yards rushing while throwing for 25-yards, but getting intercepted 3 times. Edward Miller had a catch for 23-yards. Colton Hansen had a team high 7 tackles and Austin Christensen returned a punt 38-yards for a touchdown. 

The Wheelers are 0-1 and head to Colo-Nesco on Friday.
