Melinda Schaefer drove in Kaci Peter with the tying run in the bottom 7th, then Morgan Masching, running for Schaefer, scored the game winning run on a passed ball as the Knights rallied from down 5-0 after 3 innings. The Monarchs appeared to take control of the game in the 3rd, scoring 4-runs to lead 5-0. The Knights offense had struggled through the first few innings, with 2 hits and stranding 3-runners. A leadoff single by Ellie Sibbel in the 4th, helped them get on the board with a run. They added a pair of runs in the 5th as they began to chip away at the Monarchs lead. Allison Ostrander singled to score Ellie Sibbel in the 6th, then Ostrander scored on a double by Ally Sommerfeld, her second of the game, pulling the Knights within 1. The Monarchs went down in order in the 7th, setting up the Knights final rally. Kaci Peter led off the inning with a bunt single, followed by a single from Melinda Schaefer that scored Peter who had moved to 3rd on a Monarch error. Kaylie Diercksen sacrificed Morgan Masching to 3rd and Ellie Sibbel walked before Masching scored the walk off run on a passed ball. 

The Knights out hit the Monarchs 10-6 with Ally Sommerfeld leading the offensive attack with 3 hits, including a pair of doubles. She drove in a run and scored one too. Allison Ostrander and Ellie Sibbel each had a pair of hits. Morgan Masching scored 3 times and Kaci Peter scored twice. Melinda Schaefer had a pair of RBI. Myli Schaefer got the win, allowing 6 hits and 4 earned runs with 12 strikeouts in 7 innings. 

The Knights improved to 16-19 overall and will head to Glenwood for a doubleheader on Wednesday.

CAM at Audubon

Audubon scored in every inning, blowing out CAM at home Tuesday night. The Wheelers scored the game’s first runs, plating four in the bottom of the first inning. CAM scored their first two runs in the top of the second inning to trail 4-2. Audubon blew the game open in the home half plating five runs to take a 9-2 lead. CAM scored again in the top of the third to trail by five runs at 9-4. The Wheelers added two more in the home half of the third inning and then won the game 16-4 by scoring five in the fourth inning.

Audubon recorded ten hits in the game, with two of them going over the fence for home runs. Mattie Nielsen, Kylee Hartl, and Addie Hocker recorded multiple hits in the game. Alexis Obermeier pitched all four innings striking out six CAM hitters. The win improves Audubon’s record to 15-7 on the season. The Wheelers are back in action on Wednesday against Griswold.

Ar-We-Va and CRB battled in a pitcher’s duel, with the Crusaders coming out on top by a single run. The Rockets scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning off of an RBI double by Maggie Ragaller to lead 1-0. The Crusaders responded by tieing the game up at 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning off an RBI single from Maddy Mason. The score stayed tied until the bottom of the seventh inning. In the home half of the seventh, Brooklynn Burmeister hit a one-out single to put the game-winning run on base. The Burmeister single was followed by a single from Anna Hart, putting runners on first and second. Lacie Davis recorded the third hit of the inning, loading the bases. Malia Clayburg came to the plate with the bases load and was hit by a pitch sending the winning run in Brooklyn Burmeister across the plate for a Crusader 2-1 victory.

CRB recorded seven hits in the game. Seven different Crusader hitters recorded a hit. Anna Hart pitched all seven innings in the circle, striking out eight Rocket hitters. Ar-We-Va recorded three hits in the game coming off the bats of Maggie Ragaller, Delaney Schurke, and Karime Sanchez.

The win improves CRB’s record to 10-13 and 8-5 in Rolling Valley Play. The loss drops Ar-We-Va to 7-10 and 6-8 in conference play. The Rockets are back in action on Wednesday at home against Whiting. CRB is back in action on Wednesday at home against Glidden-Ralston.
