Kaci Peter hit a leadoff home run in the 3rd, but that was all the offense the Knights could muster, falling to Denison Schleswig in a game rescheduled from a couple weeks ago. Kuemper had the bases loaded in the 1st inning but didn’t score, setting the stage for a tough offensive night. The Knights finished with 5 hits but only had two runners besides Peter on her home run to reach 2nd base. They had a base hit in the 1st inning, 2nd inning, 3rd, 6th and in the 7th when Allison Ostrander had a one out single. The Monarchs scored a run in the bottom 1st, adding 2 more in the 2nd.

Kaci Peter had a solo home run, Melinda Schaefer, Kaylie Diercksen, Allison Ostrander and Ally Sommerfeld all had a base hit. Myli Schaefer took the loss, going 6 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs with 8 strikeouts.

The Knights are in Greene County on Thursday on 93-7 KKRL. The loss drops Kuemper to 15-14.

Ar-We-Va gets a huge win on the road against a Tiger team with 15 wins coming into the night. Jamie Hausman drove in a pair of runs in the 3rd inning, helping Ar-We-Va score 3 times in the inning, answering a run by Woodbine in the bottom 1st. Both pitchers controlled the game from the 3rd inning on with Amber Ragaller giving up 8 hits but only 2 earned runs. The Tigers scored once in the bottom 7th but Ar-We-Va had extended the lead with a run in the top 6th. The Rockets offense picked up 8 hits with five players having at least one hit.

Jamie Hausman, Jazmine Molina and Karime Sanchez all had 2 hits with Hausman doubling, driving in a pair of runs. Sanchez added an RBI and a run scored. Morgan Berg scored twice helping Amber Ragaller who earned the win with 2 strikeouts and 2 earned runs in 7 innings.

The Rockets improve to 4-9 overall. They host Boyer Valley on Thursday.

Carroll had 8 hits but allowed 19 hits, falling to the Blue Jays at home. The Tigers got 2 hits from Kloee Jones and Amanda Wardell with Wardell adding an RBI. Olivia Rowedder, Emma Kuhlmann, Parker Adams and Averi Burke all had singles. Rowedder and Burke scored their runs and Averi Burke added an RBI. Camryn Schable took the loss, going 5 1/3 innings, allowing 11 hits and 6 earned runs with 3 strikeouts.

The loss drops the Tigers to 13-14 and will head to Carlisle on Thursday.

The Raiders nearly made a great comeback, down 7-0 in the 5th, they had a chance to grab their first lead in the 5th and 7th innings. They started the rally in the 5th with 6-runs, then had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs in the 7th but weren’t able to push the tying run across the plate. The tying run was on 3rd base in the 5th when the Raiders sent 10 batters to the plate. The Cougars used a Raider error to score a pair of runs in the 2nd inning, then added a run in the 4th. They nearly blew the game open with a 4-run top 5th. The Raiders defense hurt themselves with 4 errors, allowing 2 unearned runs. Manson NW Webster wrapped up their scoring in the 6th, using a hit-by-pitch and a Raider error to score. Makenna Steiger started the rally in the 5th with a single. The next three Raiders all singled, Jamie Pierce, Gracie Snyder and Kendall Quirk. Snyder and Quirk each drove in a run. After an Emersyn Mack walk, Mary Bontrager drove in a pair of runs with a single and Maci Gustavson pulled the Raiders within 7-6. Chloe Bieret ran for Gustavson and was stranded at 3rd when the inning came to an end. Kendall Quirk hit a 2-out solo home run to left field in the 6th, setting up the 7th. The Cougars got a runner on with an error but Maci Gustavson struck out 3 batters and the Raiders trailed by 1. Maci Gustavson singled to start the 7th for East Sac and Jen Ashinger walked, putting the winning run on base. After a pop-up on the infield Makenna Steiger reached on a fielder’s choice, but the Cougars got the lead runner at 3rd. Jamie Pierce was hit-by-pitch, loading the bases with 2-outs. A ground out to 2nd base, ended the game.

Maci Gustavson led the Raiders with 3 hits while Kendall Quirk and Emersyn Mack both had a pair of hits. Quirk hit a solo home run. Gracie Snyder had a hit with an RBI and a run scored and Mary Bontrager had a pair of RBI. Maci Gustavson struck out 7, allowing 5 hits in 7 innings. She gave up 6 earned runs.

The Raiders fall to 6-12 overall and will travel to Glidden Ralston on Monday.

Coon Rapids Bayard won their 4th straight, holding off an IKM-Manning that nearly sent the game into extra innings. The Wolves scored 3-run bottom 7th after Coon Rapids Bayard steadily built a comfortable lead, scoring in five innings. The Wolves fell down early, trailing 6-0, going bottom 4th. They scored twice in the 4th and 5th innings, staying within striking distance.  Coon Rapids Bayard scored a pair of runs in the 1st, 3rd and 4th innings.  The Crusades finished with 7 hits while IKM-Manning had 7 hits.

Anan Hart paced the Crusaders with 3 hits and scored 3 times while also getting the win, allowing 3 earned runs at 13 strikeouts. Lacie Davis added a pair of doubles, with 3 RBI and a run scored. Malia Clayburg had a double with a pair of runs scored.

Grace Carroll and Olivia Robinson both had a pair of  hits with Carroll going for a double and a triple. She added a pair of RBI and a run scored. Robinson had an RBI, Karlee Arp, Alikxa McGinn and Anna Stangl all scored a pair of runs. Arp suffered the loss, going 7 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs with 8 strikeouts.

The Crusaders improve to 8-12 and host Woodbine on Friday. IKM-Manning falls to 2-18 and will host Audubon on Thursday.

The Spartans held Glidden Ralston in check, allowing 2 hits and the Wildcats suffered a tough road loss. The Spartans scored 5-runs in the 1st inning, then added 3-runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings. Vanessa Koehler walked in the 4th for the Wildcats and scored on a single by Ashlynn Tigges. Kassidy Wenck had the other Glidden Ralston hit. Vanessa Koehler took the loss, throwing 1 inning, allowing 3 hits and 6 earned runs.

The Wildcats fall to 10-7 overall and host CAM Anita on KIKD 106.7 on Friday night.

The Titans ran into a buzzsaw in 4th ranked Newell Fonda, allowing 14 hits while collecting a pair of hits. A 9-run 3rd inning gave the Mustangs separation. The Titans scored in the 1st inning, collecting a pair of hits. Jayci Graeve singled and scored on a single by Keira Hammen. The Titans didn’t get a baserunner the rest of the game.

South Central Calhoun falls to 2-13 overall and heads to SE Valley on Friday.
