Carroll rallied late in a nonconference matchup but came up short on the road Friday night. Nevada scored six runs in the top of the first inning to take an early 6-0 lead over the Carroll Tigers. After a rocky first inning, Dreylen Schweitzer settled in, going six innings on the mound for Carroll. In the top of the second inning, Carroll cut into the Nevada lead, plating a single run. Both teams went scoreless in the third, and in the top half of the fourth, Carroll added three more runs and trailed Nevada 6-4. Neither team would score the rest of the game, and Nevada would beat Carroll 6-4.

Carroll recorded four hits in the game coming off the bats of Stone Sibenaller, Chase Ragaller, Ryan North, and Dreylen Schweitzer. Schweitzer went six innings on the hill, giving up six earned runs, and struck out four Nevada hitters. The loss drops Carroll to 3-14 on the season. The Tigers are back in action on Monday on the road against North Polk.

Both teams hit the ball well in a high-scoring affair that saw ESC pick up the win Friday night. SCC recorded 16 hits in the game, while ESC had 12. ESC had to make a comeback to win Friday’s matchup. SCC scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning and took a 1-0 lead going to the second. ESC was able to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the second; however, SCC regained the lead plating five runs in the bottom half to take a 6-1 lead going to the third inning. ESC cut into the Titan lead by scoring three runs in the top of the third inning and held SCC scoreless in the bottom half. Trailing 6-4, the Raiders added another run in the top of the fourth inning and trailed SCC 6-5 going to the home half of the fourth. The Titans scored five runs in the bottom half of the fourth inning to lead 11-5. ESC needing a comeback, did just that, plating four runs in the fifth, three in the sixth, and two more in the top of the seventh to take a 14-11 lead. SCC added a run in the bottom of the seventh but lost 14-12.

Carter Erritt, Jack Gullett, Ryan Zimmerman, Luke Wright, and Luke Wernimont each recorded multiple hits in the game for the Raiders. ESC used three pitchers in the game. They combined to go seven innings giving up eight earned runs and striking out six SCC hitters.

Brock Nattress recorded four hits in the game for SCC. Charlie Nattress, Keegan Soard, Caleb Gaffney, and Caleb Juhl also recorded multiple hits in Friday’s game. The Titans used four pitchers in the game, and they combined to go seven innings giving up ten earned runs and striking out seven ESC hitters.

The Raiders are back in action on Monday at home against Sioux Central. SCC is on the road Monday against Storm Lake St. Mary’s.

The Rockets led for most of the game but saw their lead disappear later in the game. Ar-We-Va scored the game’s first runs, plating three in the home half of the first inning. The Rockets would add to their lead in the second and take a 4-0 lead going to the third inning. Glidden-Ralston cut into the Rocket lead by plating two runs in the top of the third and trailed Ar-We-Va 4-2 going to the fifth inning. The Wildcats took their first lead of the game in the fifth, scoring five runs and taking a 7-4 lead to the sixth inning. Glidden-Ralston would extend their lead, scoring three more times to lead 10-4. The Rockets cut into the lead by plating three runs themselves and trailed Glidden-Ralston 10-7 going to the seventh. The seventh inning was high scoring. Glidden-Ralston would extend their lead, plating six runs to lead 16-7 going to the bottom half. In the home half of the seventh Ar-We-Va showed no quit as they scored five runs and lost 16-12 to Glidden-Ralston.

The Wildcats recorded 19 hits in the game, while Ar-We-Va had 11. Seven Glidden-Ralston hitters had multiple hits in the game. The Wildcats used two pitchers, and they combined to go seven innings on the hill, striking out seven Rocket hitters. Wyatt Ragaller, Wade Ragaller, and Devon Ehler recorded multiple hits for Ar-We-Va. The Rockets used two pitchers in the game as well. They combined to pitch seven innings striking out six Wildcat hitters.

Coon Rapids-Bayard won for the second straight night scoring 16 plus runs. The Crusaders opened the scoring by plating two in the first inning and one in the second to take a 3-0 lead going to the fourth inning. CRB extended their lead in the fourth inning, scoring five times to take an 8-0 lead. In the top of the fifth inning, CRB kept scoring by adding eight more runs to take a 16-0 lead going to the home half of the fifth. Boyer Valley was able to get on the board in the home half of the fifth but lost to CRB 16-2 in five innings of action.

CRB hit three homruns on the night. The Crusaders hit .500 as a team tonight and erupted for 15 hits. Kolby Culbertson, Caly Heydon, Lance Clayburg, Cade Behrens, and Ty Heydon all recorded multiple hits in the game. Cal Heydon pitched a one-hitter on the hill, going four-plus innings and striking out six Boyer Valley hitters. CRB is back in action on Monday at Ar-We-Va.

IKM-Manning took an early lead but saw it disappear quickly on the road Friday night. The Wolves scored first, plating a run in the top of the first inning. Riverside was able to tie the game up 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning. Riverside took the lead for good after plating one run in the home half of the third inning. Riverside took a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the sixth inning and extended it to 4-1, plating two more runs. IKM-Manning went scoreless in the top of the seventh inning and lost to Riverside 4-1.

The Wolves recorded five hits in the game. Lane Sams went five-plus innings on the mound for IKM-Manning, striking out five riverside hitters. The loss drops the Wolves to 6-11 on the season and 4-7 in conference play. IKM-Manning is back in action on Monday at home against Logan-Magnolia.
