Kuemper picked up their second win at Ogden within a week. The bats were hot for the Knights, scoring 13 runs on 16 hits. Ogden scored first in the bottom of first and led Kuemper 4-2 going into the fourth inning. The Knights plated six runs in the top of the fourth inning. Ogden left seven runs on base, and the Knights held them scoreless until the bottom of the seventh when they scored once.
Kaylie Diercksen had a great night at the plate driving in five runs on five hits. Kuemper had four players with multiple-hit games Wednesday night and three with multiple runs batted in. Myli Schaefer pitched well on the mound for the Knights, striking out four and only walking one. The win improves Kuemper’s record to 3-5 on the season. The Knights are back in action Thursday when they travel to Ridge View.

Carroll at Bondurant Farrar

The Carroll Tigers were in a pitcher’s dual Wednesday night at Bondurant Farrar as the first run was scored in the fourth inning. The Bluejays scored the first run of the game in the fourth inning, and the Tigers were able to tie it back at 1-1 in the top of the fifth. Bondurant Farrar was unable to push a run across in the home of the fifth. Carroll came to bat in the top of the sixth and could not score. The Bluejays drove across two runs in the bottom of the sixth and won the game 3-1.
Averi Burke was outstanding on the mound going six innings for the Tigers and only giving up two earned runs. Carroll’s first-hour hitters in the lineup each had a hit in the game, and the Tigers left five runners on base. Carroll is back in action Thursday when they host Carlise in a Raccoon River Conference matchup.

East Sac County picks up their second win of the season in a come-from-behind victory on Emmetsburg. Both teams went scoreless in the first inning, and the Raiders scored first in the top of the second with one run crossing the plate on one hit. Emmetsburg responded by platting two runners in the home half of the second on one hit. Emmetsburg extended their lead by plaiting another run in the bottom of the third, making the score 3-1.
The Raiders would pick up the pitching and defense as they held Emmetsburg scoreless the rest of the game. East Sac picked up one run in the fourth on two hits. Makenna Steiger would pick up a lead-off single in the fifth inning and would come around to score on an Emersyn Mack single. Mack would come around to score the go-ahead run on a throwing error by the third baseman giving the Raiders a 4-3 lead. Emmetsburg would go in order in the home half of the seventh. The win improves East Sac to 2-0 on the early season. The Raiders are in action again on Thursday on the road against OABCIG.

South Central Calhoun drops to 0-5 but played well on the road Wednesday night in a back-and-forth game at GTRA. The Titans scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the first on back-to-back hits by Jayci Graeve and Keira Hammen. GTRA would respond with one run in the bottom of the second to make it 2-1. South Central Calhoun extended their lead by scoring three runs in the top half of the third on five hits. GTRA answered the Titan’s score with three runs in the bottom of the third, making it 5-4 SCC going to the fourth.
GTRA scored six combined runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take the lead 10-5 going to the top of the seventh. The Titans went in order in the seventh, and GTRA won the back-and-forth game 10-5. SCC had one of their best performances at the plate, tallying ten hits in the game. The Titans are back in action Thursday at home against Ogden.

Ar-We-Va tallied two hits in Wednesday’s ball game and kept it competitive through the first five innings. In the top half of the first, Woodbine scored two runs on four hits and almost batted around, sending seven batters to the plate. Jamie Hausman started the home half of the first with a lead-off single and later advanced to second, but the Rockets were unable to score. Ar-We-Va threatened again in the third inning when Hausman picked up her second hit of the game, but the Rockets could not score again. Woodbine would extend their lead in the top of the fourth to 4-0. Woodbine would continue to extend their lead over the sixth and seventh inning when they scored nine combined runs in the two innings.
Hausman had the Rockets loan two hits in the game.
Ar-We-Va was unable to get a runner passes second in the game and struggled to hit off of Woodbine’s pitcher Charlie Pryor. The Rockets are back in action on Thursday when they travel to River Valley.

Glidden Ralston rally fell short in a battle of two teams undefeated on the season. Exira-EHK scored 9-runs in the first-three innings and held a 9-0 lead into the 5th. The Wildcats scored a pair of runs in the 5th and two more in the 6th but the rally fell short in the 9th.
Riley Miller drove in a run and scored in the 1st inning, giving the Spartans a 2-0 lead. She was strong in the circle, throwing a no-hitter into the 4th. Miller added a pair of RBI in the 2nd and Gemini Goodwin drove in a run and Exira-EHK led 6-0 going into the 3rd. AFter giving up 3 more runs in the 3rd the Wildcats came alive. Elizabeth Lloyd broke up the no-hitter with a single to left, just past the glove of shortstop Shay Burmeister. The Wildcats didn’t score but they had finally broken through. Addy Boell walked with 2 outs in the 5th and Brenna Bowman singled to centerfield. Kate Bergmeier and Allison Snyder came in to run and Vanessa Koehler hit a shot to the centerfield fence, putting the Wildcats on the board. Her double cut the deficit to 9-2. Kassidy Wenck doubled to open the 6th, scoring on a single by Ashlynn Tigges, Tigges scored later on a single by Addy Boell. Glidden Ralston entered the 7th, down 9-4. Kassidy Wenck hit her second double, coming with 2-outs but the Spartans closed the door with a ground ball to 3rd base.
Kassidy Wenck had a team high 2 hits with both doubles. She scored a run as did Ashlynn Tigges, Allison Snyder and Kate Bergmeier. Addby Boell and Ashlynn Tigges both had an RBI and Vanessa Koehler led the team with 2 RBI. Koehler took the loss in the circle, going all 7 innings, with 8 hits and 4 earned runs. She struck out 7. The Wildcats finished the game with 8 hits, all coming from the 4th inning on.
The Wildcats fall to 5-1 and will travel to Greene County on Thursday. Exira-EHK improves to 4-0.

IKM-Manning struggled Wednesday night, giving up 14 hits in the game on 13 runs. All three of the Wolves runs came in the top of the first inning, and they led 3-0 going into the home half of the second. Panorama’s bats would come to life as they scored all 13 of their runs from the second to the fifth.
IKM-Manning had four hits in the game; one was a double off the bat of freshman Laura McCarville. McCarville also led and drove in two of the three runs. The loss drops IKM-Manning to 1-5 on the season. The Wolves are back in action on Thursday at home against Riverside.
