Kuemper did it again on Wednesday night, falling behind early, then rallying and holding on to win. Underwood scored a run in each of the first-two innings, highlighted by a solo home run from Jack Vanfossan in the 1st inning. Logan Sibenaller was dominant on the hill after that, allowing three singles over the final five innings. Sibenaller jump started the offense in the 3rd, hitting a 1-out double, then scoring on a sac fly from Koby Lampman. The Knights tied the game in the 5th, Evan Loew walked and scored on a single by Benicio Lujano. The Eagles threatened in the 6th with a 1-out single by Gus Bashore, who stole 2nd but was stranded their as Logan Sibenaller struck out the next two batters. Cooper Pottebaum singled with 1-out in the 6th, then scored on a single by Max Irlmeier after Pottebaum had stolen 2nd base. Sibenaller struck out two of the Eagle batters in the 7th and induced a fly ball to right field for a one, two, three inning.

Logan Sibenaller went all 7 innings, picking up the win, while allowing 6 hits and 2 earned runs with 9 strikeouts. He went 2-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Benicio Lujano, Koby Lampman and Max Irlmeier all drove in runs and Cooper Pottebaum and Evan Loew both scored. The Knights finished with 6 hits.

The win improves Kuemper to 6-2, dropping Underwood to 3-2. The Knights host the CYO tournament on Saturday. Thursday game at Ridge View has been canceled.

Bondurant Farrar used a pair of 4-run innings to top the Carroll Tigers. Carroll was held to 2 hits, allowing only 7 hits and keeping the Blue Jays off the board the final two innings. The Tigers hurt themselves with 5 errors while Bondurant Farrar only had 1. Carroll loaded the bases in the 6th inning with two outs but weren’t able to push a run across the plate.  They left 6 guys on base for the game.

Jake Jorgensen singled with one out in the 2nd inning and scored the Tigers lone run on a double by Tate Schleisman. Those were both of the Tigers hits. Carroll had a runner on 2nd in the 1st inning and left runners on 2nd and 3rd in the 2nd inning. Bondurant Farrar scored 4 times in the 1st inning, then added 4 more in the 4th after getting a solo run in the 3rd.

Carroll falls to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the Raccoon River Conference and will host Carlisle on Thursday.

Ar-We-Va picked up three hits, allowing 12 hits and 8 earned runs in a 4 inning loss on Wednesday. The Rockets had 12 errors, leading to 7 unearned runs. The Tigers scored 5 in the 1st inning and 3rd inning, added 3 in the 2nd inning and put the game away with 2 more in the 4th inning.

Blayne Smith, Devon Ehlers and Timothy Dose all had base hits for the Rockets. Wyatt Ragaller took the loss, throwing 3 innings, allowing 8 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.

The loss drops Ar-We-Va to 0-4. They will host West Harrison on Monday.

The Raiders let one slip away on Wednesday, giving up 4-runs in the bottom 6th and all 8-runs in the 4th-6th innings after taking a 5-0 lead in the 3rd inning. East Sac scored 4-runs in the 2nd and one more in the 3rd. They wouldn’t score again until the 7th. The defense played well most of the game, but a few miscues late, helped the E-Hawks rally. East Sac finished with 7 hits, allowing 8 with Luke Wernimont picking up the Raiders only extra base hit.

Luke Wernimont paced the Raiders with a pair of hits, including a double and scoring twice. Ryan Zimmerman, Landon Sporrer, Jack Gullett, Bradyn Burns and Carter Erritt also had a base hit. Karter Ludwig went 2 innings, allowing 1 hit and 0 earned runs.

The loss drops East Sac to 0-5 as they prepare to host Alta-Aurelia on Friday.

The Wildcats left 7-runners on base, made 6 errors and held Exira-EHK to 4 hits in a 10-3 loss on Wednesday at home. The Spartans took advantage of the Wildcats miscues, scoring in each of the first-five innings, building a 10-1 lead. The Wildcats struck for a run in the bottom 1st, adding two more in the 6th. Glidden Ralston finished the game with four hits with two for extra bases. Jackson Sklenar doubled in the 1st, scoring a run and Ethan Olberding tripled in the 6th, driving in a pair of runs.

Daniel Thooft and Mark Lensch had the Wildcats other two hits with Lensch, Waylon Hein and Colby Wallace scoring a run each. John Whitver took the loss, going 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 4 earned runs with 4 strikeouts and 7 walks.

The loss drops Glidden Ralston to 3-5. They travel to CAM Anita on Friday.

South Central Calhoun exploded for 8-runs in the 6th inning to rally in a game that went back and forth all game long. The Titans led 3-0 and 3-2 early, then went up 7-6 after 4 innings. They trailed 8-7 heading into the 6th inning. Keegan Soard started the rally, getting on base, then stealing 2nd and 3rd base. After a couple of walks, Charlie Nattress singled, driving in a pair of runs. GTRA had a couple defensive miscues and South Central Calhoun worked some walks. Brendan Stone came up and hit a grounder that was misplayed, scoring a few more Titans, giving them a few insurance runs. GTRA tried to rally in the bottom 7th, scoring 3-runs but it wasn’t enough.

Khyean Hawkins hit a solo-home run in the 1st inning and Brock Nattress had 5 stolen bases, including stealing home on a pick off play, beating the throw home. Charlie Nattress added 5 RBI. Other stats for South Central Calhoun were Charlie Nattress leading them with 4 hits. Brock Nattress had 2 hits and scored 4 times, Brendan Stone added a double as part of a 2 hit night along with scoring 3 times. Noah Hendricks pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 earned runs while Charlie Nattress went 3 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.

The Titans picked up their first win of the season, improving to 1-4. They host Ogden on Thursday.

The Wolves traveled to Stanton to complete a game that had been suspended in the top of the 4th inning. The Wolves led the game 1-0, having scored in the 2nd inning. They held that lead until Stanton scored in the 5th, tying the game. The Vikings took the lead in the bottom 6th with 5-runs. The Wolves offense struggled after the game restarted on Wednesday, finishing with 5 hits. They got a solid pitching performance, holding the Vikings to 8-hits and 4 earned runs with Ben Ramsey, Bryc Summerfield and Zander Richards throwing.

Ramsey pitched 3 innings, allowing 1 hit with 4 strikeouts, Summerfield went 2/3 inning, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run and Richards went 2 1/3 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs with 4 strikeouts. Ben Ramsey, Reed Hinners, Bryc Summerfield and Kasche Huehn all had base hits with Huehn adding an RBI and Cooper Irlmeier scoring the run.

The Wolves scored in the top 1st with Ben Ramsey scoring after walk but that would be all the Wolves could muster as both teams pitched well in the second game of the night. IKM-Manning finished with 2 hits, allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs. Stanton tied the game in the 3rd, then took the lead with a 3-run 4th inning.

Bryc Summerfield and Jace Starman both had hits with Ramsey stealing 3 bases. Lane Sams pitched well in the loss, going 6 innings, allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks.

The pair of losses drops IKM-Manning to 1-6. The Wolves continue a busy week with a home game with Riverside on Thursday before heading to LoMa on Friday.
