Kuemper scored seven runs in the bottom 4th inning, helping to stretch the lead in a game that was called due to the time limit in the bottom of the 5th with the Knights at the plate with a runner on 1st base and 2 outs. Ogden scored twice in the top 1st and nearly had more but the Knights were able to get out of trouble, then rebounded with 3-runs in the bottom of the 1st to take the lead. Melinda Schaefer opened the rally with a double and scored on a single by Kaci Peter. Peter stole 2nd and 3rd and scored on a single by Kaylie Diercksen. Myli Schaefer singled and scored on a Bulldog error to give Kuemper the lead and they would never trail again. Alexis Diercksen doubled to open the 2nd inning and scored on a sac bunt attempt thrown away by the Bulldogs. The Knights put the game away in the 4th inning with Kaylie Diercksen singling to open the inning. Myli Schaefer singled, Ally Sommerfeld picked up an RBI, then Allison Ostrander, Ellie Sibbel and Alexis Diercksen all singled with Ostrander and Diercksen each driving in a run. Melinda Schaefer reached on an error, Kaci Peter, Kaylie Diercksen, Myli Schaefer and Ally Sommerfeld all singled with Diercksen having 2 RBI. The 7-run inning put the Knights  up 13-4. Melinda Schaefer was at the plate when the game was called in the bottom 5th with the time limit reached.

Kaylie Diercksen, Myli Schaefer and Ellie Sibbel all had 3 hits with Diercksen adding 3 RBI. Melinda Schaefer, Kaci Peter and Alexis Diercksen all had 2 hits with Shaefer doubling, driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice and Diercksen doubling and scoring twice. Myli Schaefer pitched 2 innings of relief, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run.

Carroll Vs SE Valley

It was a pitchers dual into the 6th inning when Carroll scored 5-runs to pull away. Camryn Schable kept the Jaguars at bay early, striking out 6 through the first-three innings, helping her team build a 2-1 lead after 4 innings. Olivia Rowedder singled and scored for Carroll  in the 2nd inning on a Jaguar error on a ball by Ava Gross. The Tigers tacked on a second run in the 3rd when Kloee Jones reached on an error and scored on a Makalei Kofron single. Schable was cruising, striking out the first-two batters in the bottom 1st and 2nd innings, then striking out the last two batters in the 3rd. She allowed one hit in the 1st but that was it until the 4th inning. The Jaguars scored with 2 outs after the Tigers  had made an error. Schable struck out two more in the 5th and the leadoff batter in the 6th. Averi Burke came in to close the door in the bottom 6th. Carroll extended their lead in the top of the 6th, batting ten girls. Ava Gross singled, Gabby Olberding walked, Parker Adams reached on a fielders choice-sac bunt, Kloee Jones singled, Averi Burke doubled, Makalei Kofron walked and Emma Kuhlmann also walked. Jones had an RBI and Burke added 2 RBI as the Tigers scored 5-runs. The game was called after 6 innings due to the time limit.

Kloee Jones had a pair of hits and scored twice. Averi Burke and Olivia Rowedder each had 2 RBI with Burke doubling. Camryn Schable went 5 1/3 innings, allowing 2  hits and no earned runs with 9 strikeouts.

Kuemper scored first but couldn’t hold the lead as the Tigers scored 5-runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings in a game that was called in after the 4th inning due to time limit. Kuemper scored a pair of runs in the 1st and led 2-1 going into the 3rd inning. The Knights finished with 3 hits, allowing 11 hits.

Melinda Schaefer, Kaci Peter and Ally Sommerfeld garnered hits for Kuemper with Schaefer scoring 2 of their 3 runs and Peter scoring their other run. Kaylie Diercksen had an RBI.

Carroll picked up 5 hits with Olivia Rowedder and Marin Overmohle both having a pair of hits in a loss to Webster City  in the second game for Carroll on Saturday. Overmohle had the Tigers lone extra base hit with a double. Kloee Jones added a single and Rowedder stole a pair of bases. The Tigers were struck out 9 times in the shutout loss. Averi Burke and Camryn Schable both pitched 3 innings, allowing a combined 7 hits while striking out 6. Burke allowed 1 earned run as the Tigers had 8 errors.

Kuemper’s bats would struggle in a loss that dropped them to 1-2 on the day. Myli Schaefer had 2 of their hits and Kaylie Diercksen added the other. Des Moines Christian finished with 9 hits, scoring 7-runs in a game called in the 6 inning due to time limit. Kaci Peter walked twice and scored the Knights lone run.

Kuemper plays at Carroll on Tuesday on 93.7 KKRL.

Carroll rebounded from a tough outing against Webster City with a dominant win over Des Moines Christian. The Tigers racked up 10 hits with 5 of them for extra bases. Their defense was sharp, not committing an error after having 8 in the loss to the Lynx. Averi Burke went the distance in the 5 inning game, allowing 1 earned run and 5 hits.

Parker Adams and Ava Gross both had 3 hits with Adams doubling and tripling and Gross finishing with a double, 3 RBI and scoring twice. She also stole 2 bases as the Tigers stole 13 bases on 16 attempts. Averi Burke and Emma Kuhlmann both had doubles to round out the Tigers five extra base hits. Makalei Kofron scored 3 times and Kloee Jones scored twice as did Bailey Bowman as a courtesy runner. The Tigers walked 11 times.

Carroll will host Kuemper on 93.7 KKRL on Tuesday.
