The Kuemper Knights added another win to their current win streak and kept a tight hold on their in-town rivalry against Carroll as they cruised past the Tigers Monday.
The Knights wasted no time getting ahead in this game and used the speed and accuracy of Cate Mayhall to climb to a 6-0 lead. Mayhall accounted for five of Kuemper’s six goals while Caitlin Yetmar added a goal of her own. Carroll’s Paige Potthoff provided the Tigers with some opportunities on the sidelines and had four shots on goal in this game. Kuemper’s control of the pitch was what allowed them to play mostly on Carroll’s side. All together the Knights had 30 shots on goal and Carroll’s Kiley Riesberg kept busy with 25 saves in this game. The Knights have now defeated Carroll for the 12th time in a row with this 6-0 victory.
Kuemper is now 4-4 overall on the season while Carroll drops to 1-7. The Knights are back in action on Tuesday, April 25th when they travel to take on Glenwood while Carroll will also be on the road on Tuesday as they travel to Boone.
