Windy conditions persisted Tuesday as the Kuemper Knights hosted Boone and had a difficult time getting past the Toreadors.
High wind gusts were not playing favorites for either team, but Boone was able to hold on in a majority of the sets. Braxton Lu had the best match in singles for the Knights where he battled tooth and nail against Lucas Thompson. Lu got it down to the wire, but eventually it was Thompson who pulled out the 11-9 win. Max Reincke had the next best set where he was able to win six games, but ultimately fell 10-6 to Joe Jordan.
Kuemper’s only win on the day was in doubles with Mason Reicks and Jake Hausman. Again, the duo had to battle in extra games against Wes Baber and Ashton Thilges but eventually the Kuemper team was able to pull away to win 11-9. The teams of Josh Langel and Hans Kraus and Max Reincke and Braxton Lu both lost their doubles matches by scores of 10-4.
The Knights are now 3-2 overall on the season. The Knights are on the road on Thursday, April 20th when they take on Ballard and Creston at Ballard.

The Audubon Wheelers were on the road Tuesday when they competed in windy conditions against Southwest Valley.
The Wheelers are coming off a big win over Harlan last week 6-3 but had a tough time battling the wind and their opponents. Sawyer Toft gave the Wheelers their only win of the day when he got past Slate Goodwin-Kinnaird 9-7 in singles. Toft teamed up with Connor Christensen in doubles where the Wheelers’ duo ended up losing 8-4 against Goodwin-Kinnaird and Logan Westlake. Isaac Jackson and Eli Deist had the strongest showing in doubles for Audubon, going head-to-head with Evan Timmerman and Owen Paul. They gave Timmerman and Paul a nice back and forth match but eventually fell to the Southwest Valley duo 8-5.
The Wheelers are now 1-3 overall on the season. They are off until Monday, April 24th when they host Council Bluffs Jefferson.
