Kuemper jumped out quickly, taking a 3-1 lead at half and holding on for a 4-2 win over Harlan on Monday. The Knights played their most complete game of the year, taking 12 shots and scoring on 4 of them. They did a very nice job moving the ball on their offensive end, picking up 3 assists. Harlan scored with around 15:00 left in the 2nd half to cut the Knights lead to 3-2 but Kuemper defense held firm with Wittrock making several nice saves and Vanessa Borelli and Frannie Glynn playing well in front of her. Catherine Mayhall sealed the win with a late goal, putting Kuemper up by 2.
Catherine Mayhall finished with a team high 3 goals on 7 shots, Cierra Pudenz added a goal and a nifty assist. Caitlin Yetmar and McKenna Blum both added assists. Brianna Wittrock added 17 saves.
Kuemper improved to 1-3 and will host East Sac on Tuesday, April 18th.

The Raiders were in control for most of the game, but it slipped away late as the Raiders fell to 0-3 on the season. Kenna Meyer put East Sac up early, scoring a goal 8:00 into the 1st half. Sarah Bontrager fed Meyer for an assist. The Raiders offense was aggressive in the 1st half, taking 13 shots. That aggressive play fed into the defense, allowing the Raiders to keep the ball on their end. The defense allowed only 2 shots in the 1st half but the Raiders only led 1-0 at half. The lead grew to 2-0 as Kenna Meyer scored with 35:00 left in the game on an assist by Hannah Pudenz. East Sac remained up 2-0 until West Sioux scored with 28:00 remaining. The Falcons tied the game with 19:00 remaining and took the lead and took the lead with 3:00 remaining. The Raiders had a few chances with 4 shots on goal over the final 20:00, but weren’t able to score. East Sac finished the game with 17 shots on goal.
Kenna Meyer scored a pair of goals on 3 shots on goal, Sarah Bontrager and Hannah Pudenz each had an assist with Pudenz taking 5 shots on goal. Chloe Bieret added 4 shots on goal and Sarah Bontrager had 3 shots on goal. Denae Thayer had 9 saves in goal.
The Raiders host Harlan on Thursday.
