Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll and East Sac Boys Soccer Fall on Thursday

Boys Soccer Results Thursday, April 6th

Carroll played well but suffered a tight loss on Thursday, surrendering a goal in both halves to lose 2-0. The Tigers struggled in the 1st half on defense, allowing 18 shots. Tanner Heithoff was on his game in the goal, stopping 17 of them, keeping his team in the game, down 1-0 at half. Greene County took the 1-0 lead with 16:00 left in the half. Carroll made adjustments at half, taking control of the game in the 2nd half but not able to squeeze a goal into the net. The Rams only took 4 shots in the 2nd half as Carroll was on the offensive. The Tigers nearly tied the game with 3:40 remaining, Markus Wagner had a  free kick from around 25 yards. He shot it towards the left post and Cameron Schweers tapped it in by Carroll was called for offsides, nullifying the goal. Carroll kept the pressure of, getting a couple more shots to tie the game late but weren’t able to capitalize. The Rams took advantage and scored their second goal of the game with 1:00 left. They dribbled a ball that appeared to have rolled out near the Tigers goal and were able to score to extend their lead.

Markus Wagner and Landon Peterson both had 2 shots on goal and Jack Friel added a shot on goal. Tanner Heithoff added 20 saves.

The Tigers fall to 1-2 and will head to LoMa on Friday.

Panorama At East Sac

East Sac played well, building a 3-1 lead at half, taking 24 shots in the game with 9 on goal. They had chances in the 2nd half to take the lead back after Panorama tied it at 3, even though they were playing with ten guys over the final 20:00. The Panthers, who improved to 2-1 scored the game winner with under a minute remaining on a ball that hit the crossbar and came down near the line and was scored as a goal. Panorama tied the game at 3 with around 20:00 remaining on a free kick, after the Raiders had lost their goalie.

Caleb Eichorn ended the night with 7 saves in goal along with an offensive goal. Isaiah Aragon and Sam Schmitt also scored goals while Luke Wernimont added 8 saves.

The Raiders fall to 1-1 on the season and travel to West Sioux on Monday for a game that was rescheduled from March 31st.
