Carroll Vs Crestwood, Cresco At Webster City- Class 2A Regional Duals

Carroll entered the Regional Dual matchup with 8th ranked Crestwood, Cresco down a couple of wrestlers, limiting their ability to get off to a quick start. The match started at 132 pounds and Michael Rowedder battled but fell to Ryan Wilson by fall at 1:25. Levi Dirkx was tied with Cade Korsmo 2-2 after the first period but Korsmo would go up 5-3 in the 2nd and went on to win 9-4. The Tigers slipped Logan Nepper in at 145, and he led 2-1 after the first period against Jace Pedretti. Pedretti took control in the second period, leading 7-2 heading into the third period. Pedretti put Crestwood up 15-0 with a win by fall at 5:03. The Tigers got their first win of the night at 152 as Cooper Ludwig was able to withstand several dumps by Ayden Easley. He kept getting back to his feet quickly, eventually wearing down Easley and taking control of the match, earning a win by fall at the 3:59 mark. The Tigers trailed 15-6 but had to take a forfeit at 160. Chase Ragaller jumped out quick, leading Tyler Pisney 6-1 at the end of the first period and 8-1 heading to the final period. He went on to win 8-2 and Carroll was down 21-9. Kieran P0lking nearly flipped the match for Carroll, down 11-1 in the third period, he battled back with a reversal and back points and pulled within 11-9 but fell to Cody Kerian and Webster City went up 24-9. Taidyn Peterson and Jeep Clark lost by fall at 2:17 and 0:56, giving Crestwood a 36-9 lead with five matches left. Colton Wieland had a back and forth match, though he never trailed and held on to beat Kole Balvanz 6-4. Carson Tedrow lost by fall at 4:37 at 106 pounds and Crestwood put the match away, up 42-12. Carroll kept battling with Dreylen Schweitzer and Cael Nelson both winning. Schweitzer won by fall at 113 pounds in 1:41 and Nelson won 7-1 at 126 pounds. Ryler Ziegmann fell by fall at 120 pounds.
Carroll went 5-8 in matches wrestled, with two wins by fall and three decisions. They fell 48-21. The Tigers will head to the Class 2A State Qualifying meet on Saturday, February 11th.

East Sac, Woodbine, and Riverside at MVAOCOU
The East Sac Raiders went 1-2 overall in their duals Tuesday where they took on MVAOCOU, Riverside, and Woodbine.
In the matches they wrestled, the Raiders went 9-12 and defeated Woodbine in that dual 48-9. Charlie Veit had the best day amongst his teammates, going 3-0 overall. He was able to pick up a major decision 10-0 and two fall victories at 1:30 and 5:09. Kane Boyle of MVAOCOU was the one to take Veit into the third round. Tate Lahr was the other wrestler who had a solid day going 2-1 overall. Lahr won both his matches via all at 0:26 and 3:23. Bradyn Burns, Hutton Pasche, Chandler Lahr, and Garrett Ortner all picked up an individual win.
